Pennsylvania GOP Replaces "O" in Obama With Hammer and Sickle

A recent ad on the the Pennsylvania Republican Party's website, since replaced, showed a message with the O in Obama replaced with the hammer and sickle from (guess where) the U.S.S.R.'s flag.

The ad asked: "Tired of Barack Obama
, (Pennsylvania Governor) Ed Rendell and (Pennsylvania Senator and former GOP member) Arlen Specter ruining our nation? Hit them where it hurts. The voting booth!"

1. This, from the party that supports the military coup in Honduras
If they looked in the mirror, it would shatter.

2. How classy of them!
Jeez.

And they wonder why people are leaving that party. NO new ideas...Just attack, attack, attack.

That attitude loses its punch after a while.

Once folks realize that's all there is...NO new ideas!

Shame on them.

4. I suspect that fewer and fewer voters even understand
the meaning of this.

They just make fools of themselves.

6. Tailgunner Joan
We Were Surprised To Learn Today ...

... that, in addition to being tough on crime, Republican state Supreme Court candidate Joan Orie-Melvin ORIE-MELVIN also apparently has no tolerance for Communists. Or that might be the impression the politically unsophisticated are left with after they take a gander at a banner advertisement now striped across the top of the popular conservative Web site GrassrootsPA. "Tired of Barack Obama, Ed Rendell, Arlen Specter and big government Democrats ruining our nation?" the advertisement asks in yellow block capitals set against a bright-red background. And in case the message wasn't subtle enough, there's a Soviet-era hammer-and-sickle inside the "O" in Obama's last name. That oughta rally the base, eh? ...

8. Gee, how mature of the gop. Really. And I agree, after 8 years of glorious
prosperity and world-wide love and respect, the Dems are just ruining it all!1!

Wow. Even the freepers must be realizing how deeply stupid the gop thinks they are.

10. Personally I would take being called a Communist as a
compliment. The tired old right wing rhetoric of red baiting and fear mongering with Communist symbols is not working anymore. Many young Americans don't even remember the USSR or the Cold War. That being said the conservative movement does not have a problem with Fascism, they embrace it. Maybe the Democratic party could at least admit some socialist ideas are good and stand with their Communist and Socialist brothers and sisters.

11. One might say Jesus was a Communist. He and his disciples worked together for the good
of their own small band gathering grain and fishing and whatnot, and of course Christ was also the guy who did the whole loaves and fishes thing too for people outside of his small group.

Lay that on the G-(insert face of Hitler here)-P.

14. How incredibly embarrassing to reveal your own stupidity like that
and to not have a hint of awareness of doing it?

The new symbol for the Republican Party - a shoe dragging toilet paper behind it.
