Look, I'm more than willing to pay an extra $100 a year in Medicare
if it goes to reimburse doctors.

I do not think it fair that it is never the companies, never the bean counters (of which I am one) who have to take a hit. Never the investors. It always seems to be the doctors or the patients who are forced to bear the brunt of the cost of reform.

Those shaving off a buck here and buck there for stamping a form, those providing a hindrance to the health care system that are never asked to take a hit.

This is where the problem lies.

1. In my county, patients are disproportionately medicare/medicaid.

Yet, the doctors don't seem to be suffering.

Undoubtedly, they could make more in an urban/commercial center (but then again, so would their patients) but I don't see all that much obvious hardship heaped on providers.

Health care should cost less for patients. If that means less for doctors, I'm okay with that.

2. Absolutely
Someone puts in all the work of med school, actually does the health care, has the skills and judgment deserves to get paid. The ridiculous system we have rewards the middlemen... who says leeches have disappeared from western medicine? ;)

3. Our doctors are all on salary $150,000 or so
I never hear any of them leave because of money. It's usually because the town is too small, the clinic system is chaotic, elderly patients are a challenge, etc.

4. Absolutely...
Then maybe they'd be more inclined to take new Medicare patients...
