Any countries we can invade to steal their healthcare?
Edited on Tue Oct-27-09 05:17 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
I've noticed that Congress has always been pretty good at authorizing and financing insane wars...

maybe that's the best angle to get some healthcare reform through our national legislature.

(This is a joke. I remain atypically optimistic about where we are with HCR.)

2. LOL! That's the American Way!!! Of course, only the rich would get the stolen healthcare.
No surprise there.

18. You're right, must invade a country of moderately good HC.
That way the rich won't want it.

Cuts out France completely, and, well, most of Europe.

Perhaps we could invade Grenada again. At least that's one we could win.

We can steal their parliamentary system too. And get real sugar back in our Coke.

11. Also, donuts!
I've been to Canada once or twice, and let me tell you, I'd almost rather have our healthcare system and widely available Tim Hortons than their healthcare system and Krispy Kreme.

20. TOUCH our Tim Hortons and you DIE.
(As I sit munching on my Tim Horton's egg & cheese on a bagel with glazed choccie donut for afters).

12. That's not a bad idea either
We could get REAL Guinness (as opposed to the weaker US version - which still isn't bad)

14. Isn't the weaker "US" version actually bottled in Canada?
Edited on Wed Oct-28-09 12:21 AM by fujiyama
I have an idea:

We invade Canada, steal their health care and then we impose a new law on Canadian beer - that it doesn't suck! I'm sorry, I've never been a big fan of any of the Canadian macrobrew beers.

Oh and then we can invade Ireland and get them to produce real Guinness right here in the US!

As for the health care, we can then decide. I'm not too familiar with the Irish system myself, but either way I'm sure it better than the crap we have here!

24. It's been a while since the last time I drank Guinness in Canada
But I swear the stuff on tap up there is different than what they sell in bottles. Canadian bottles are only 4.2% alcohol. Don't know exactly what the percentage in the kegs is, but it's gotta be considerably stronger if I could feel a buzz after the first pint.

10. Corporations need no health care, they don't get sick like you and I
And the people who actually benefit from our wars have "the best health care in the world," IOW they can go anywhere in the world to get the very best in whatever specialty they need.

Maybe we could tell them there's untapped gold reserves somewhere and do a bait and switch for human decency (some people value this commodity like gold)

21. Cuba offered to send hundreds of doctors and nurses to help Katrina victims
Bush rejected their offer, and I suspect a President Obama would have done the same thing (Obama extended the Cuba embargo for another year).

26. They have cheap drugs and cheap surgery in Mexico.
That's one of the medical tourism destinations. And it's close to us Southerners.

Piedras Negras is only 140 miles SW of San Antonio!!
Bonus: The Moderno Restaurant is where the Nacho was invented, by a guy named (surprise) Ignacio. :D
