Jarrett: 'Of Course' Fox News Is Biased
Ben Frumin | October 28, 2009, 9:03AM

Senior Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett entered the White House vs. Fox News fray in an interview broadcast yesterday with CNN's Campbell Brown. Asked by Brown whether Fox News is biased, Jarrett said, "Well of course they're biased. Of course they are." Then she laughed.

Then Brown asked whether Jarrett also thinks MSNBC is biased. Jarrett backtracked.

"I don't wanna just generalize all Fox is biased, or that another station is biased," she said. "I think what we want to do is look at it on a case-by-case basis."

We are actually calling everybody out, so this isn't anything that is simply directed at Fox. Before saying that "of course" Fox News is biased, Jarrett said that "certainly if we see somebody distorting the truth, we're gonna call them on the carpet for that" and that "when there's all that chatter and distortion and false information, we have to distinguish between truth and fiction."

3. MSNBC doesn't cheerlead. They can be very critical of Obama too - just from the progressive
side.

Democrats who watch CNN actually give Obama a higher approval rating then Dems who watch MSNBC. I believe CNN was 87% and MSNBC was 83%. That doesn't surprise me at all.

Faux was a Republican cheerleader for Bush. That is why they are a political arm of the GOP instead of just a media outlet with a POV.

MSNBC has shows with a POV - Keith, Rachel, Ed - but they don't act like cheerleaders for the Administration. They are frequently very critically - sometimes to a degree I don't think is fair or accurate (I'm looking at you Keith - saying Obama was going to give up getting rid of Pre-existing conditions exclusions in HCR which was completely untrue).

Roger Ailes is a GOP hack/liar/smear-artist. That isn't the same as being a Conservative.

4. Yeah but there's a difference between bias and cheerleading....
.... *I* cheerlead .... Keith, Rachel, Tweety, Ed are biased toward a Democratic agenda.

And there's not a thing wrong with that.

MY problem with Fox is not so much the message they push, but that they do it under the banner of being "Fair and Balanced." Let's call a duck a duck and be done with it.
