GOP: Democrats will BAN THE BIBLE!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6028610/

I know, I know, I couldn't believe it either, but apparently RNC-head Ed Gillespie has OK'd this proselytizing on behalf of the Republican Party where they actually have sent out mailers to West Virginians that Democrats will ban the Bible (and of course approve Gay Marriage) This has truly hit bottom. How much farther can it go?

I was gonna say Virgin Marys, but since we're banning the Bible this weekend, thought it inappropriate :eyes:

I guess they'll do anything to keep the news and the talk shows off of Iraq and the economy.

9. Unreal. Just when you think they can't stoop any lower, they pull it off.
If there is a just god behind the Bible, this tactic will backfire horribly.

10. Even if one wanted to, one *couldn't*
Setting aside the fact that there are literally millions of bibles in homes, libraries and hotel rooms in North America, it's on the Internet, people! Dozens of sites that I know of have online searchable bibles, any flavor you want. And like someone else pointed out, ban them from where?

15. The Republican leadership has no respect for people
if they think voters are so dumb that they will buy such outrageously false charges. Of course they do have to hope that the electorate is truly stupid, as it is the only hope they have of winning this election!

bible?

Hmm tell me which of these passages holds true to the GOP's priorities and beliefs?

"But God said to him, 'You fool!  This very night your life is being demanded of you.   And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?'   So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God."  "Yes, every man is a fool who gets rich on earth but not in heaven.  Sell what you have and give to those in need.  This will fatten your purses in heaven!   And the purses of heaven have no rips or holes in them.  Your treasures there will never disappear; no thief can steal them; no moth can destroy them.  Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be."

{Luke 12:15-21}

" Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place; for all who take the sword will perish by the sword."

"Look here, you rich men, now is the time to cry and groan with anguished grief because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you.   Your wealth is even now rotting away, and your fine clothes are becoming mere moth-eaten rags . The value of your gold and silver is dropping fast, yet it will stand as evidence against you and eat your flesh like fire.   That is what you have stored up for yourselves to receive on that coming day of judgment.   For listen!   Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay.   Their cries have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.   You have spent your years here on earth having fun, satisfying your every whim, and now your fat hearts are ready for the slaughter.   You have condemned and killed good men who had no power to defend themselves against you."

{James 5:1-7}

Neo-Cons are as close to Christians as ice is to flame in my opinion.

18. They have created so many lifelong Democrats the last few years.
It's like, how do they expect us to ever vote for them when they're out lying their asses off about what we're trying to accomplish? We know for a fact what we want, and when they lie about it, we're the first to know they're lying. So how do they expect to try and attract people who are Democrats now? Their thinking is so short-term.

19. Same As It Ever Was
Supposedly, the same scare story was circulated about Thomas Jefferson when he was elected President. I recall an anecdote about an elderly Federalist woman who asked her neighbor to hide her family Bible. The neighbor tried to reassure her that the rumor was absurd, but to no avail.

Finally, in exasperation, he pointed out, "If they mean to burn all the Bibles, it will do no good to keep it in my house instead of yours."

The lady replied, "They will never think to look for a Bible in the home of a Democrat."

George W. Bush will send your sons and daughters off halfway around the world to die for the greater profits of his corporate cronies!

Wait. Change the tense on that sentence from future to past. It's already happened.

27. It's all a big misunderstanding.
You see by "the bible" they actually mean the Moonie Times or perhaps Fox News (some repukes have never seen a real book, get a little confused and think the "good book" is that box in the living room that talks to them). These things will of course be banned once we regulate the media properly.

Now the Holy Bible on the other hand is something Dems would never ban. We need them around to desecrate in our daily Satanic rituals. They also make good fuel for the bonfires at our Communist rallies / homosexual beach orgies.
