Dean, Ann Richards, Pelosi, Rendell around Philly on Saturday.
Howard Dean will be in Philadelphia (and vicinity) for the following events this Saturday, September 18:

12:00 Noon: The Campaign for a New Majority, a joint fundraising project of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and DFA, is sponsoring a reception (or perhaps luncheon, web references vary) in Bryn Mawr PA honoring Howard Dean, Ed Rendell, Ann Richards and Nancy Pelosi. Minimum donation is $100. Details and RSVP form are at: http://blog.dccc.org/newmajority/philly.php

5:00 PM: Howard Dean will be appearing at the Free Library of Philadelphia (1901 Vine St, Philadelphia) to promote his brand new book, "You Have the Power: How to Take Back Our Country and Restore Democracy in America." This is a FREE EVENT and no registration is required. For directions, see: http://libwww.library.phila.gov/research/direct.taf?_function=list&ThreeLetCode=cen

8:00 PM: Gov. Dean will debate William Bennett on candidates and issues at Villanova University at The Pavilion. Though the website indicates that (initially) no tickets would be sold to the general public, a call to Villanova provided the updated info that public tickets are now available for advance purchase at 214 Dougherty Hall 9-5 M-F, or at the door the evening of the event. Cost of admission is $15. Event info at:
http://www23.homepage.villanova.edu/thomas.mogan/bennett_dean/description.htm

(I had heard there would be more than one Bennett debate, so this is the first I have seen of it. There is another on the 30th, but I don't remember where.)

3. Maine will be the one on the 30th
Howard Dean, William Bennett To Square-Off On Election Viewpoints At ACEC's 'The Maine Event'
Bennett and Democrat Howard Dean will debate opposing political ideologies and key issues that will determine the upcoming Presidential election on Thursday, September 30, in Portland, Maine, as part of the Fall Conference of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

The unique debate, titled "The Maine Event," begins at 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn By the Bay and pits together two of the nation's most powerful political voices in a rare no-holds barred discussion on contrasting party philosophy, and what issues will impact who America chooses as President.

The debate will precede the nation's first scheduled Presidential debate between President George W. Bush and challenger Senator John Kerry, scheduled for later that evening.

Bennett was Secretary of Education under President Ronald Reagan, and America's drug czar under former the President George H. Bush. Today, he is a nationally-known Conservative activist, and currently hosting his own syndicated radio show "Bill Bennett's Morning in America."

For further information or for press credentials contact Alan D. Crockett, 202-682-4301 or acrockett@acec.org
