The Herald-Dispatch story: confirmation on Parlock's "union" son
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 07:20 AM by BullGooseLoony
It's at the end here:

http://www.herald-dispatch.com/2004/September/17/LNtop1.htm

A Republican family attended the rally to show support for the Bush-Cheney ticket. Phil Parlock, a Barboursville resident and strong Republican, said his family was accosted by some Kerry supporters.

<snip>

After standing on the tarmac with the Kerry supporters, Parklock and three of his children moved down to the airport road near a parking lot exit.

******With Parlock were sons Phil II, 21, and Alex, 11, and daughter Sophia, 3.******

Parlock said a Kerry supporter yanked a Bush-Cheney sign out of Sophia’s hands, making her cry. As they stood along the road later, someone threw the ripped-up remains of the sign at them as they passed.
--------------------------
The union guy? Yeah- young Phil Parlock.

1. In the past they would have been beating Jews, Blacks and burning crosses
Young Phil would have dressed up in blackface to make it seem for the cameras as if the cross was burned by the NAACP.

Orwellian Madness.

Everywhere it it Animal Farm Rsiing.

Amerika is seeking an Evil Destiny that Germany and Rome sought.

Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 07:28 AM by imax2268
his 21 year old son Phil II was the one wearing the union shirt and is also the one who ripped up the sign...

He's wearing the shirt to make it look like it was a Kerry supporter who did it...

and the photographer that took the pictures is connected to the family also...

Parlock family photo:

Is one of the Parlock sons the sign snatcher?

The sign snatcher bears a striking resemblance to Phil Parlock:

49. Look at the guy in the grey shirt in the family photo...
Atrios pointed out that it could be him, too. I think that might be a closer match. Still, that's a great catch. I've just been sitting here with my mouth open for more than an hour now. I don't know why I'm so shocked, but I guess I don't expect even the neocons to be so blatant -- and to keep getting away with this.

7. I'm a little confused ...
While I believe that a family member could have yanked the sign, no where in the story does it say it was done by young Phil Parlock.

Yet your post heading reads: "The Herald-Dispatch story: confirmation on Parlock's "union" son".

Did I miss something in the story? Please advise.

10. You've got to put some things together....
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 07:34 AM by BullGooseLoony
Okay- here's the AP photo:

See the "union" guy on the left?

Now, look at the Parlock family:

See the guy on the right?

And Phil Parlock Sr., compared to the "union" guy:

Now, put that together with the info above. Two of his sons were there, you can see Alex on Phil Sr.'s left. So- where's Phil Jr?

You're looking at him: the guy with the union shirt.

Yeah, the guy's his son, the picture was staged, and these people are professional victims.

Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 07:41 AM by girl gone mad
I had a suspicion that the sign snatcher might be one of Parlock's older sons. Don't know why, just thought it would fit the guys M.O. So I searched the web and found a photo of the Parlock kids.

It looked like a close match, though it's a bit hard to tell because the sign grabber's face is almost a profile.

This article all but confirms it for me. Consider the fact that the oldest son is not mentioned in the AP caption or in the Washington Times story.

35. Yes! Send this to the painters union!
Now I am deeply suspicious of the other incidents - all prominently photographed and given media attention - in which various men wearing union shirts supposedly attacked Bush supporters during Kerry rallies.

This has happened at least three times where it has received national attention, and it is probably happening a lot more frequently and reported only in local news.

This really, really burns me!!!

Question: Were there any other members of that same union there?

Question: Union should have membership list, is he on it?

Question: Folks in background, did anybody see "Union" guy later talking with Dad or son or daughter?

Question: What did folks in attendence say? Can we contact anybody who was there and saw it?

a button of some kind.

The original post of the shirt logo is slightly different in shape than the IUPAT for Dean shirts in the second photo, with the initials being rounded at the top. But I do believe the shirt the guy is wearing in the "crying child" photo is the same as those shown in the Dean supporters' pic.

BGL; it looks like "Kerry Edwards", but the railing in the way.

TG; A button was my first thought too, but there does not seem to be any delineation between the shirt and the button(?)

Are there any better pics, frames from video maybe, that show that actual event occurring? Something that would show the shirt better.

Don't get me wrong....I do think it's the guy and posted above some questions that I think would nail it down further (#17). But to me this is a minor issue (this repugs actions & history), and is ONLY useful in countering the Repugs charges of Dem Dirty Tricks.

PS, keeping this counter info somewhere handy on the net though, is a must. Good Work Folks

These are Dems, right, so is there a way to contact the local Dem HQ and find out if they have ACTUAL, LIVE witnesses to the event.

If we can find someone who was there and MAYBE saw them all talking together either before or after the event, or MAYBE even saw them arrive or leave in the same car......BINGO.

That a well-laid-out website be setup for the evidence in this, or DU offer up a page from the homepage. On that page, have all supporting evidence for this conclusion in a coherent layout and eschew great gouts of angry and flowery rhetoric and conclusions.

Just the facts and the evidence.

Also, alert the painter's union. I am sure they will be quite interested. Perhaps enough to get their lawyers involved.

36. This means that the father and sons deliberately upset the little girl!
That is child abuse. This man took his three year old daughter to a rally and had her older brother snatch a sign from her hands, just to make her cry for the cameras. While her younger brothers and sisters looked on. They've probably been used in previous stunts.

The father is sick. He shouldn't have custody of those children.
