A reporter covering our local Dem Town Committee told us |
|
last night that the voter outreach we did targeting our town's 2004 High School graduates got a HUGE response.
We took the graduation list and cross referenced it with the latest town voter roll. All graduates got a "Congratulations on your recent graduation". We checked to see if the grad was already registered;if they were AND THEIR PARENTS WERE REGISTERED DEMS OR UNENEROLLED(INDEPENDENT VOTER HERE)they got an absentee ballot application.
If the graduate was unregistered with the same family situation (see above)they got a voter registration card and an absentee ballot application
Republican connection simply got standard congrats on graduation
Reporter said the town clerk was amazed at the response. I think we timed the mailing just right to coincide with going away to school;any earlier and they would have put it off.Mailings arrived around August 20th
18-30 year olds are going to surprise EVERYONE this year! I'm feeling REAL positive toady
