Do NOT apologize for that picture of the little girl crying.
If a Democrat went to a Bush rally with a Kerry sign, we would be arrested and some FReeper-type would have asssaulted our child.

2. We can't sink to that level, though.
1) Because the media is against us, and ignores it when it happens to us but can't stop talking about it when it hurts us.

2) Because it would be wrong.

5. TOO...LATE.
Do not give ONE INCH on this.

Talk about the little kids in Iraq that Bush has blown to smitherings. This is NOTHING.

17. Exactly
Fuck this apologetic nonsense. This is nothing compared to the beatings, arrests and humiliations suffered by activists at our own damn rallies.

Plenty of people are on hand to turn this psyop into anti-democratic propaganda. Don't contribute to their yelps.

20. We're not
You are.

Add to the anti=democratic propaganda if you like.

I will yelp for every wrong, big or small.

You will not claim the moral high ground for even one small wrong.

We are NOT going there.

All of this may be irrelevant if the whole thing was staged. All I'm saying is that it's one thing to say that there are degrees of hurt, and of course the Iraqi children are hurt worse.

It's still another to laugh at a crying kid because of who her father is. That's only the beginning of dehumanizing the percieved "other side." Fuck that. I'm staking my ground here. Now. No further. We are SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THIS.

18. *Bzzzzzzzt* we're already down there - remember the SBVT?
Hate to break it to you, but even in the GOP primaries of 2000 it was painfully clear what a sack of manure was running for President.

I can't really say things have improved since then, so...

Suck it up!

4. Losing a Son VS Losing a Sign?
There is no comparison.

After what they did to Sue Niederer, today, a woman who was arrested outside of a Laura bush rally....for asking why her son had to die in iraq for no wmd's and no links to 9/11?

I'm going to worry about some kid losing her sign?? Has this world gone mad?

Not stoop to their level??? No one could stoop to their level, when a mother who has made the ultimate sacrifice of her son, is arrested and carted off for asking why??

Time we all got a little backbone and fight back, dont you think? Good God. The kid lost a sign, big deal. This woman lost her son.

But *some* of us were getting off on the situation. That's just ugly. Ugly is ugly, no matter how righteous you try to make it.

10. If you have no compassion to give
then you should not be surprised when you receive none in return.

Both cases are wrong. The Bush campaign should be ashamed of what they did to the mother who lost her son. It was absolutely disgraceful. Appalling.

15. Compassion?
Is that like "compassionate conservative?" Why should we feel compassion for a fascist shill participating in a well-orchestrated right-wing media blitz on our candidate?

12. And the father appears to be exploiting the child for his personal issuess
Seriously, if someone knowingly exploits a child, as this jackass did, he can hardly be a fit parent. Should someone have the father's fitness as a parent investigated? Hiding behind a child--for shame!

The other irony is that * screens rallies so carefully, the shithead with the kid would have been arrested for that sort of stunts at a */Cheney rally.
