"Feeding Frenzy" over Dean tapes? Chuck Todd on C-SPAN. |
|
Says the story is leading the Des Moines Register, LA Times, NY Times - and not playing well. He calls it the story to watch today, with serious potential consequences.

4. Tapes of tv show Dean was reuglar guest on. He disses the Iowa caucuses |
|
pretty thoroughly, calling them a tool of special interests, to whom the winner is beholden to. Says he doesn't like the system, doesn't have 8 hours to listen to some guy telling him about the candidate he likes.
Quite frankly, the most damning thing about the tapes is Dean's tenor and tone. The whole temperament issue SCREAMS out.
Now today, and over the weekend, political watchers are looking to see how this plays in Iowa. Will Iowans take great offense?

www.MSNBC.com to see it. He said "Bush, in his soul, is a MODERATE." He said that in December 2000, right after Bush stole the election. He also said "If people think George Bush is a one term president, they better think again."
They have 90 tapes and they are probably saving the best for last. Knowing the media.

11. yes and how does that compare to a man who not only |

praised Bush and his foreign policy team but voted for Bush I, Reagan, and Nixon?

12. He looks honest and smart on the tapes - doesn't underestimate Bush or |
|
the power of activists versus "regular voters" in a caucus state.

NY Times is running not only this story, but also another story that talks about Dean supporters having second thoughts in Iowa.
Just checked Iowa newspaper website,
they are running with this damning headline from Iowa Register: "In 2000, Dean bad-mouthed Iowa Caucuses"
Imagine being an Iowan reading that with your morning coffee.
I have to say, I am starting to feel a little sorry for Dean. The media seems to have got a vendetta against him lately.

5. No vendetta. Just exposing the man "in his own words". |
|
The media isn't making anything up. They're not even spinning. I have found the coverage to be pretty straightforward. Humm...a poll question?

7. The Right Wing-controlled media... |
|
They're out to dismantle one of two men who can beat Bush and want to get more devisiveness in the Dem Primary. Slander to score. The Media fucking make me sick.

8. You would expect the media to hush this up if it was 2000 and Bushsaid it? |
|
How can this not be newsworthy?

I'm no fan of Dean, but the timing of all these negative news stories on Dean is very curious.

|
Tape found from 2000.
Iowa is a caucus state. New Hampshire is a primary state.

10. Dean was the willing actor in all these videos.... |
|
and you know what they probably wouldn't have looked so hard for them if he'd just have opened his sealed records....
No telling what's in there, however.

13. It's called a "hatchet job" by the media ...who has zero investigators |
|
but all of a sudden can plow through 90+ shows to take a few words out ...and leak it to the press.
Now...please tell me...who might be pulling the strings?
And don't tell me Rove wants Dean.... this is a classic Rove play with more to go.
Dean will expose these crooks ...and they know it.
I saw the tapes on TV last night (CNBC) and if his content is "angry/extreme" it sure wasn't portrayed as such.
So just keep up with the smear

15. Clearly people will interpret the tapes differently. |
|
I saw the report, and thought they were utterly damning. Not for a guy who's running a tiny northeastern state. But for the man who posits himself as the best person to be the leader of the free world? Laughable.
