I think John needs to take a day off.... |
|
I remember how Al Gore worked so hard - seven days a week - when he was running in 2000. Yes, it is important that our candidate work harder than his opponent, but even a race car needs a tune-up every now and then. I think we, as a Party, put unnecessary pressure on our candidates. I don't think he will lose ground just because he takes a day off. I would recommend that he go windsurfing and tell the media and the Repubs to go fu*k themselves if they don't like it. He should start running like he is ahead.

He had almost a full week off during the RNC. He is not to fucking rest one day until the election.

John needs a day of restful quiet at his favorite fishin' hole. Plenty of good fishing here in WV, Mr Kerry!

He needs to take more than one day off. He needs to pace himself so that when he gives a 'big' speech he looks refreshed. I don't understand how he or John Edwards is even standing upright anymore. The shrub has it easy, but the challengers are...er...challenged by logistics.
John Kerry obviously has great stamina and is a superb physical specimen, but he's taking a beating and it shows. He really needs to be sharp for the debates and I sincerely hope that he doesn't go into them dog tired.

7. He's like everyone else. He has good and not so good days |
|
But I don't see what the fuss is about. I'm watching the speech. He has droopy eyes, but I am also listening and his message is clear. He is saying some important things. I understand him. Others will also.
And I don't see a difference between what he is doing now and 'running like he is ahead'. That sounds so nebulous that I'll bet 100 viewers would have 100 views on the results of that effort. Let Kerry be Kerry and trust in the voter's ability to look beyond esoteric puffery and embrace his message of intelligent change.

(which, while uncomfortable, is still 1,000 times more articulate than Chimpy on a GOOD day) during his speech today -- analyst said he's clearly very tired.

It seemed like Kerry was gauging the audience and decided not to slam bushy for personal gain, but rather, chose to emphasize his point. A good public speaker knows when to change or leave something out.
on edit: I didn't perceive Kerry as "tired." I think that was analyist spin.

12. I would have dropped dead months ago, |
|
but that wouldn't be a huge loss. At least not in the scheme of things electoral. Yes, he was fine today at the National Guard convention, but it's obvious to me that he's more than a bit tired. I want him at his best when he faces the Great Debater. He's not a slacker and he's going to soldier on, but IMO, he's great when he's fresh and raring to go.

|
She does very well and gets lots of press time for her appearances. Why does Kerry not use her talent more often?

14. Every man has to know his limitations.... |
|
And we cannot let others tell us what is best for us when we think it might be something entirely different from what they might think. The advisers don't always know best. Sometimes you have to tell them to sit down and shut up, in my opinion. It's easy to say you have to be out there 24/7 but it is physically draining when you have to be on top of your game all the time and at peak energy for public appearances...
