A New Side of Dean
I'll say it again, I like Howard Dean. I think he's run an amazing campaign. I think he's energized a lot of people who are typically out-to-lunch as far as politics are concerned. He's also responded well personally, to the unending volley of attacks by the likes of Lieberman, Kerry and Gephardt in every single debate. During those debates Dean had a commanding lead.

It has been said you don't really know someone until you see them under pressure. We're only now, for the first time, seeing Dean under pressure. He is no longer the media darling, the "has-it-in-the-bag" nominee. He has a real fight on his hands, so how will he respond?

If we're to believe recent news reports, he and his supporters have not responded well.

He may or may not be behind the recent "Flyergate" incident, but it's clear his campaign is staggering like a heavyweight on the wrong end of a combination. I hope for the sake of our party that Dr. Dean puts an end to these childish antics adopted by a few of his supporters, and goes back to engaging in a dialogue about the issues.

I will continue to point out that Clark has not made nor endorsed any personal attacks on Dean. It may seem old fashioned, but people respect that...more people than ever.

1. And yet,
he continues to outpace Clark in volunteers, fundraising, and polls. What does this say about Clark?

4. I'm still waiting to see the evidence
"We put our name on it"

Was DFA on this flyer or not? Why has there not been a scan?

I think it hasn't been scanned for one of two reasons
Either Dean for America had nothing to do with it or everything on the flyer was true.

8. "Dean spokesman, Matthew Gardner, readily confirmed the charge
by the Clark campaign."

13. Interesting
The reporter says this but doesn't show what Matthew Gardner said?

If the press were clowning, would it even matter? Nope.

This isn't evidence. In the courtroom, this is hearsay.

10. Even if it was
If I was really trying to discredit the Dean campaign, it's not hard to put DFA on a flyer.

The flyer I made highlights the strengths and positive message of my candidate. Howard Dean.

12. Dean's Campaign Admitted It
"Dean campaign spokesman Matthew Gardner previously confirmed that Dean volunteers were at Clark events Tuesday and Wednesday distributing information about the ret.- general. "

11. Outpace- Are You Serious?
Clark raised as much money as Dean (or close) after just entering the race.

He did it without the media fawning all over him as it has Dean.

Further, Clark's grassroots is not only strong and growing.. his standing in the polls and numbers showing up to hear him speak are rising almost daily.

3. I've quit a few campaigns that have done things like that....
It's just something I will not do. It says something about the candidate that you're working for.

And it only gets worse. They start small - and once they get away with a little thing - it turns into election fraud. Seen it happen a million times in Chicago and Illinois.

5. Dean actually gets better and works harder the more pressure he's under
He'll respond by going directly to the voters and winning them over. None of the other candidates have ever survived a hate campaign run against them. Dean has. This primary race is nothing compared to what Dean ran against in Vermont in 2000. He won that race just like he'll win this one AND the general. No one is anywhere near as tested as Dean is in hard fought races. Do some research on "Take Back Vermont".

6. Think of it as "GD2004: The Real World"
> I hope for the sake of our party that Dr. Dean puts an end to these
> childish antics adopted by a few of his supporters, and goes back to
> engaging in a dialogue about the issues.

Every campaign has its childish supporters; you know, the ones who
break the rules, incite riots, are bad sports, and the like.

In this case, it certainly appears to me that the Dean campaign has
acted quickly to weed out the troublemakers. Would that we could say
the same thing about the Clark campaign and the GD2004 forum...

16. or the Dean campaign or
the Kerry campaign or even the Kucinich campaign for that matters. DU has its share of the misguided and ill-mannered representing many of our fine candidates.

Wes Clark. He will make an extraordinary American President.

7. "flyergate"... BWA-HA-HA-HA
You GOTTA be kidding. You actually think anyone cares about anything to do with fliers?

Post something when it's in the form of a TV spot.

15. BTW, Kucinich supporters were doing this in my area in October.
Passing out specifically anti-Dean literature. I don't think I whined about it this much.
