1. Tweety said that?
As in, he doesn't approve of *'s war? Huh?

Sounds more like Tweety saying...
... that there's no difference between Bush and Kerry since neither has a platform of immediate withdrawal. Typical neo-journalism, with no depth whatsoever.

10. No he hasn't been"for"
this war since they were talking about it before going in.I remember he contracted some mysterious disease and missed a couple weeks and lost a whole lot of weight and then came back and was not such an opponent.Sort of like Judith Miller who was another one we were proud of and then she received an envelope in the mail with anthrax in it.That scared the shit outta her and she became one of the best proponents FOR an Iraqi invasion.

16. Hey, folks, Tweety is
a Dem supporter, believe it or not. Said so on Bill Maher. He's doing what he's paid to do, as much as we all might not like it.

8. When Tweety was on Bill Maher
he REALLY left one with the impression he was voting for Kerry. And I mean that in all honesty. He was going on about undecideds and said what's to be undecided about? If you want - lists ALL bad things about * - then said if you want - and listed ALL positives about Kerry.

That night he left me with the impression he's voting for Kerry. Maybe on this show of his, he's gotta be a media whore, show both sides, get people upset, get them talking, I dont know.

13. Never
And that might be why he may never become a great journalist/host. He is very good, but he is all over the place. If he could hold up a non-partisan, less flakey style he would be great.

12. Don`t get too excited.
Wait one more 24-hour news cycle and he`ll be hugging McCain. After that he`ll have a Special Report with Bob Dole on why Kerry didn`t bleed enough to lead.

Matthews is like one of those oscillating hot air fans. Don`t cheer for him too loudly tonight because tomorrow he`ll have another knife in your back.

I do like him on some level and have since 2000 but I think I understand his personality. I was just pointing out that he said that.

18. Matthews is a one man 'Crossfire'
It always seems as if there is an episode of 'Crossfire' going on in his head.

It's Matthews whole schtick to 'play right' for a few weeks then 'play left' for a few weeks. He also moves left or right depending on audience. For example, if he's doing commentary during the day on CNBC he tends to sound like a Republican. If he's on the Today show he tends to sound like a Democrat. That is his schtick in a nutshell. Rinse. Repeat.

I think in 'real life' Matthews is a socially liberal/economically conservative moderate Democrat who has 'Owl-ish' (between hawk and dove) views on foreign policy.

24. That could stem from his hatred of Clinton
Guilt by association, so Tweety couldn't stomach voting for Gore. But it's possible now that he despises Bush, because he has made clear that he's no fan of this war. Maybe he will vote for Kerry this time around, but he'll keep mum until after the fact.

25. so did alot of Americans
it matters that they learned from their mistakes. My mom voted for him also and she feels so guilty for everything he has done. I believe that Tweety is personally for Kerry, but he is so afraid in the world of do-or-die journalism that he will not show his true self unless he can balance it with an equivalent amount of Bush praise. Although this is cowardly, I'm not sure how many of us wouldn't do the same if it sometimes meant their job. I don't think he took the best path, but I don't condemn him for doing what he did. Don't attack those who learned from their voting mistakes in 2000. Welcome them to our side.
