I think the darkness & cynicism of this election is turning off many women
It's reduced the men into a bunch of bad high school boys and women aren't participating at the highest levels. It's ironic that allegedly many women think Bush will protect them better when he really is like a bad date who takes a women into a dangerous situation to pretend to save them. One of the reasons Bush steered this nation into the Iraq ditch was so that women would have less power.

1. I don't buy that women think Bush will keep them safer.
Women are not that stupid. I doubt that a large percentage of women see this election in those terms anyway.

3. I'm a woman..... and it pisses me off.
It motivates me to get active. I am sick of the "male chauvanism" shit coming out of the White House. I understand why John Kerry has to do certain things in order to win. But, he hasn't offended me at all or turned me off. I'm just ready to get rid of the arrogance, greed, deceit, and ignorance currently occupying our highest leadership position. That John Kerry is an intelligent man who allows his wife to be herself is an added bonus.

7. I have been depressed by how digusting this election is
An insidious mind rot has settled into the foundations of this country. That people in this country can stand for a veteran's war record to be besmirched by a bunch of chicken-ass deferment weenies is so demoralizing. That they can think of re-installing a moron that suppported the war in Vietnam, but figured out every way to get out of it is appalling. And worse, these chickenshits are now sending young men and women to their deaths in a war the is as vile as Vietnam? Has this country learned nothing from it's own history?

Watching those vultures on cable pick at Dan Rather's flesh is the final blow to my senses.

I wish I didn't care so much. I almost envy people who don't give a shit. This whole this has made me feel numb inside.

9. You said it all Miss_Bevey.
It's really quite simple. Do the American people vote to reward incompetence and regressive social policy....or do they vote for a man of character, intelligence, and demonstrated leadership to start the process of rebuilding this country. We have to make sure our votes count....everything else will take care of itself.

5. Salon: Girls gone riled

Will single women break Bush's heart in November?

- - - - - - - - - - - -
By Arianna Huffington

March 31, 2004 | Trend-conscious candidates beware: Do not get caught courting soccer moms or NASCAR dads. They're so over. This year's hot new swing voter is the single woman.

And with very good reason: Although single women account for one-fifth of the U.S. electorate, they historically turn out to vote in much smaller numbers than married women or, for that matter, married or single men.

The stats are simply stunning: According to Women's Voices, Women Vote, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to engaging unmarried women in the electoral process, 22 million unmarried women didn't vote in the last presidential election. If these single women had voted at the same rate as married women did, 6 million additional votes would have been cast. No small matter in a coin-toss election like 2000 was -- and like 2004 may be.Democrats should be making an especially heavy play for them, since research shows that single women tend to be more progressive than other voters. And what's more, they are seriously ticked off: Over two-thirds of them believe that the country is moving in the wrong direction and want real change

6. According to other sources Arianna's wrong about one thing--
single men are not less likely to vote than single men. I believe I saw this on a link from this site, but you have to be a paid member to get access:

http://www.unmarriedamerica.org/main.htm

On another point, where are the reliable, properly-conducted polls (e.g., those that don't over-sample Republicans) that show that women are not as likely to vote for Kerry-Edwards as they have been for other Dems in the past? The only polls I have seen show about 52% women for K-E, vs. 41% for Bush (the rest undecided, Nader, etc.) with the reverse true for men.

8. Bush is like the "rich Frat Boy" who would rape women that were
scholarship students but pay for the abortions of the rich of his own social class.

That's my view of him...from close to his "era of operation." Much different from today where no one would put up with the Little Chimp..no
matter who they were...but he grew up in a time when that stuff mattered.

Big FratBoy and give me his frat Skull & Bones on my Lavalier...or ring..and if I get "knocked up" Poppy will have to pay.

10. I just heard a variation of this security mom meme on AirAmerica
"The polls" show women don't think John Kerry would keep them safe from terrorism. Why are we keeping this in play. Even Maureen Dowd finally admitted Bush hasn't, can't and won't protect Americans. John Kerry is a real life Terminator compared with Bushie. A Mekong Delta swiftboat captain who would steer his boat into enemy fire vs someone who missed guard duty.
