I have a gut feeling that this guy is going to be "liberated".

Anyone agree?

5. But but but
He just said the Iraqi people are now in control of their own destiny. Everything is going great in Iraq, and there's tremendous gratitude. The world is safer, Iraq is safer without Saddam Hussein. What could possibly happen to Allawi? I'm sure he walks the streets of Baghdad freely, sounding like Ed Koch asking, "How am I doin'?" Don't they all love him over there? /sarcasm

7. Speaking of Koch..
he was on with that asswipe Hemmer on CNN coupla days ago and ranted on how the Dems are in this Burkett/CBS thing up their eyebrows and they're behind the whole thing. This guy is SUPPOSEDLY a DEM! He makes my skin crawl to listen to him. For someone who supposedly LOVES NY so much, it's beyond rational thinking WHY he's support *.

6. Cat - your dead on - pardon the pun
Guns stop votes every time.

This guy is Saddam light.
I can't believe the unelected Chimp is shoving this fat murderous clown down our throats.
And the assembly clapping this fat seal like he was the second coming.
I got a feeling Iraq is about to tip this whole thing over to our side.
This fat bastard is going to be spread over several Iraqi zip codes when he gets back home to that hell hole he lives in.

"It's getting better" yeah right.
This fat bastard has an IUD in his future.

8. Allawi is the proof that Bush never intended Democracy to take
root in Iraq.At first, Chalabi was being groomed for this position but the gangsters realized that only a Capo of Allawi's ruthlessness can enforce their rules in Iraq.If at some stage Allawi gets bumped off, Chalabi will make a nice stand-in.Allawi may be bumped off anytime. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Allawi is bumped off by the Bush gangsters to establish their credibility with the new crop of gangsters they want to install in power.

9. Insurgents need to get his a$$...traitor to his people...
hope they don't let him in back in their country. The non humanity of the Dr. Allawi shows he's worse than Saddam. According to boosh and with Rumsbutt's help, Saddam was killing his own people, yet boosh is killing his Iraqi people and Allawi thinks it's great.

11. Not me. He is one of the few Iraqi's that does have security.
Only because he spends all his time safely tucked away in the green zone. And the Iraqi's know it, which is why he has zero credibility there.

19. Iraqi PM says he has escaped four assassination bids
http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1015574,00050004.htm

Press Trust of India
Cairo, September 20

Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi revealed that he had escaped four attempts on his life since his interim government took over from the US-led occupation forces almost three months ago.

Allawi told the Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat during a visit to London that he was "targeted in four assassination attempts since June 28," when the US-led coalition handed back power to Iraqi authorities.

"The fourth one took place just five days ago outside the Green Zone," Allawi told the paper, referring to the highly fortified compound housing the Iraqi government and the US embassy.

22. He is a tough old Baathstard
Didn't he survive getting chopped up with an axe by Saddam's dudes? And that cast on his hand is from breaking it against a table while pounding it in anger.

If they couldn't get Bremer, they probably won't be able to get him. Of course, as far as we know, Allawi is RUNNING the "resistance".

30. He survived assassination attempt in England
"Allawi has blood on his hands from his days in London. He was a paid Mukhabarat agent for the Iraqis, and he was involved in dirty stuff." A Middle Eastern diplomat confirmed that Allawi was involved with a Mukhabarat "hit team" that killed Baath Party dissenters in Europe. However, he resigned from the Baath party for undisclosed reasons in 1975." http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/?040628fa_fact SCROLL to bottom of article.

"At first Saddam, then Iraq's deputy president, pressured Allawi, who was in contact with senior military and party officers that were increasingly critical of Saddam, to rejoin Ba'ath. In 1978, friends told Allawi that his name was on a liquidation list. In February 1978 Allawi was awoken in bed one night by an intruder in his Surrey home, who proceeded to attack him with an axe. The intruder left, convinced that Allawi was dead. He survived the attempted murder, and spent the next year in hospital recovering from his injuries. It is presumed that the attack was an assassination attempt ordered by Saddam Hussein. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A23-2004Jan30.html

26. That's our talking point right there
Bush politicized the war and jeopardized the mission. This is obviously a critical time in Iraq. Why did Allawi come here? So he could be trotted out in front of reporters to help Bush win the election. Where should the speech have been given? If not Falluja, Baghdad.
