Debate Humor, Kerry and the Shrub |
|
I think during the Debate this Thursday, John Kerry should quickly nip in the butt *'s humor. I know * is going to try and be funny. I think Kerry should say something like this, "Mr. President, 1,046 American Soldier's have died in Iraq, I don't think now or anytime in the near future is a time of laughter. These are serious times that demand serious leadership!"
Nip Bush's* humor in the butt right when he tries, that way at home undecided viewers don't think positive about him at all.

Show him to be the child he is to all the folks watching..maybe they (the viewers) will try and pay attention as see what a fool he truly is standing there making jokes when other Americans are out there burying there children/loved ones....Much like that little "joke" with him looking all over the White House for Weapons of Mass Destruction...Wow..was that a riot.

that Kerry should use humor in the debates. But the only reason I say this is because the average American doesn't know, thanks to our corporate media, that he has one. I have seen Kerry in person once, and on c-span, and he DOES have a delightful, dry sense of humor. In the debates, he should aim this at *, and he certainly has lots of material. No problem there.
The part I have trouble with is *'s so-called "sense of humor". I don't see it, and have never laughed at anything he's said. Aside from a few cheap shot insults aimed at underlings, what does it consist of? True, I am blinded by hatred of this man, but he does not have a true sense of humor. He is NOT charming. That is media spin.
edited to add: after a closer reading pf your post, I see that you aren't saying what I thought you were. I agree with your suggestion that Kerry nip *'s smartass comments in the bud with such a shot. I just don't think that *'s cheapshots are really humor.

4. I flipped on the Today show 5 minutes ago (I know, I know) |
|
and Tweety was on saying much the same thing, that if Bush is allowed to do his frat boy, slap on the back, charm the charmless thing, Kerry will lose. If Kerry slaps him down on Iraq, Kerry will win.
Funny hearing that come from Tweety, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

More than that if it runs backwards.

7. Uhmm, I'm not sure about "humor" but Kerry |
|
and especially his campaign should utilize ridicule and lampooning more as a devastatingly effective political weapon.
There should be at least ONE of the smart, highly-paid, self-important political operatives around Kerry who understands how to jab at Bush's fragile ego. Sting him with a couple of jabs about being a "failed" President and maybe make an oblique swipe at Daddy Bush. That'll make him overheat and get off his talking points.

8. Bush campaign has to make a choice |
|
between presenting Dubya as folksy, funny, frat-boy, slap-on-the-back or presenting him as a strong, firm leader.
My guess is that they will go with the theme of "fearless leader" and try to "out-tough" Kerry.
Probably little humor unless Duyas flubs up and makes a self-deprecating joke about it.
