A Zell Miller Moment in Houston with tom delay and the mayor
Mayor Bill White was the former chair of the Texas Democratic Party. In the past he has refused to participate in partisian events, and rightfully so since Houston is diverse, but:

From the Houston Chronicle:
"David Saperstein, chairman of Mayor Bill White's Office of Mobility, hosted a fund-raiser for U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay at his River Oaks home Monday. The dinner for 20, at $2,000 a head, featured White as a special guest."

When I heard of this, I had just spent 6 hours preparing and walking in a parade, trying to keep up with Richard Morrison (delay's opponent) who tried his darnest to shake every single hand on the 3 mile parade route.

Our parade entry, 20 of us, was tired. We worked hard. Walked every step of the parade, while the damn idiot DeLay rode in a Mercedes Convertible.

And then we hear about our Mayor Bill White attending and being a guest speaker at a fundraiser for DeLay.

Is this a Zell Miller moment or what?

My calls to Bill White campaign has gone unanswered. If you want to call and question what Mayor Bill White was doing as a "special guest" to a Tom DeLay fundraiser, the number of White’s campaign office is 713-659-9000.
