Today's effort to try to defeat Bush, my letter to the newspaper

This is the letter that I sent this morning to the Roanoke Times. Sometimes my letters are printed; sometimes not. Will let you know if this one is.

While volunteering this week at the Roanoke Regional Democrats Office at Tanglewood West, I had the pleasure of meeting many interesting people. Among them were several citizens who came to get "replacement" Kerry/Edwards yard signs. Their signs had been stolen!! Two people had seen the vehicles come to their property. One reported that her sign had been stolen but the opposition's sign across the street wasn't taken. One reported that as he sat on his porch, a van pulled up, a little girl--yes, a little girl of 8-10 years, jumped out and took his sign. This same van was later seen in front of an establishment of the opposition. A very large sign which had been put up on Colonial Avenue had been stolen during the night. Several others reported that their signs had been stolen but that the neighbor's on either side still had their opposing signs.
I ask all of you who stoop to such levels even involving your children to steal for you, what are those VALUES you hold so dear? Is one of them: Thou shalt steal thy neighbors' Kerry/Edwards signs??? What happened to that "freedom" that we used to have, freedom that Bush is trying to insist that we're allowing Iraq to have...why don't we have it here? Could it be that you're running scared? Are you afraid that your choice is going to lose? I ask that, also, of the person, who continues to send derogatory post cards to me and others who get letters he/she dislikes, published in the newspaper. This person doesn't have the guts to write his/her own views. What is this value called? Thou shalt try to intimidate thy neighbor?
Just one more thing for those of you who have not learned this yet: Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks. Most of the attackers were Saudis and followers of Osama bin Laden, a Saudi national.

I heard from my friend who did a show in Roanoke that it is more Liberal, say we say, than other parts of Virginia?

2. Yes, the city of Roanoke is because of more minorities

But not the County of Roanoke. Too many wealthy repugs in the more upscale areas want to protect their assets. And the poor ones don't know what the hell is going on, but by god, they don't want their right to own a gun taken from them and they like an idiot who will kick ass. They have no concept of what is going on this world. There are only 2 issues in this election for the repugs...tax cuts and the wars...on terra and EYE RAQ!!
