do you honestly believe Dean would cheat? |
|
say what you will about him, but he's not corrupt. Do you believe the right-wing media, that Dean is trying to cheat and steal Iowa. I sure as hell don't. And this is the same media that wouldn't touch Bush, after all the crap he's done. Ugh.

But EVERY campaign is filled with over-zealous (and often young) campaign workers, and every campaign probably experiences these folks doing things they ought not.
At which point, the good campaigns make amends.
Which, BTW, is exactly what the Dean campaign has done by firing the latest two examples of my main point.

2. No but Trippi has, did and would |
|
I would hope that Dean would not turn a blind eye to the tactics that Trippi has already used and then bragged about.

I don't think Dean would, but power and pressure can make people do very strange things. If Howard really does pray, I hope he remembers to do that before letting Trippi go forward with anything illegal.

23. I'm sorry, but you're reminding me |
|
of the people who claimed Gore would cheat in Florida because a Daley was on his campaign.
It would be great for the Clark team if Trippi were "dismissed," though. I'll grant you that. ;)

4. Of couse he would. He and Bush are very similar and that's what |
|
attracts Dean's supporters to him. That is why they are willing to give up their Democratic values to suport him. They think his dirty tricks will succeed against Bush. He and Bush come from the same background. Dean's grandmother was Bush's grandmother's bridesmaid. Dean ran Vermont to the benefit of rich businessmen, the same as Bush is running the country. Dean regularly lies about the other candidates. I think Trippi is no match for Rove and that that kind of campaign is doomed.
Here's a problem. There was an anti-Bush yahoogroup that changed to anti-Dean. Radical Exposes, who's posts a lot of us probably remember and who used to post great stuff right after the theft about what a fascist Bush is, is now telling people that Bush is better than Dean. This guy, whoever he is, was was of the strongest anti-Bush people around although I never figured out who he was. This is the kind of backlash that concerns me about a Dean candidacy.

All this is just pre-emptive self-defense by the losers, so that they don't have to admit they got their butts kicked fair and square.

Don't you know? His "operatives" have already done-in something like 47 posters who used to be in GD2004! I understand there's a book you can buy on the Internet that lists them all and soon there'll be a series of DVDs!

Your name suggests you might take Gore's endorsement as significant, and your icon says ABB. Yet you are participating in the tearing apart of someone who very well might be our candidate.
What gives?

and he changes positions on issues too much to be called principled. So...I do think he's capable of ALLOWING Trippi to do the cheating for him.

He'll cheat, lie, misrepresent, talk out of both sides of his mouth, and do whatever it takes to get elected. Nothing unusual in that; after all, he's a politician. The trouble is, if he does get the nomination, he'll be going up against an even heavier, more centerless, souless group in Bush and his gang. Should make for an unusually unpleasant campaign.

20. I don't think ANY of our candidates would |
|
I choose not to have blind hatred for any Democratic candidate by accusing them of cheating. Technically they all could, but I don't think any of them would.
If we're all so damn concerned, why not just have Iowans show proof of residency when attending the caucuses? An Iowa ID or some form of picture ID with a utility bill or any piece of mail with their name and address on it? Problem solved.

It would be stupid to try it. As Atlant said, there are always overzealous supporters in every campaign who will try to bend the rules.
Dean's taken some hits in Iowa lately, with the spying incident (another thing that goes on all the time on all sides) and the cheating allegations, along with the old remarks against caucuses (he was right about them, btw), set against the positive of Harkin's endorsement. If he still wins the state, it says something about the depth of his support.

Out of all the outlandish charges leveled against Gov. Dean in the past, not even his enemies have accused him of cheating to win.
