October Surprise: Nader Drops Out?
Ok, this is pretty much the only thing that Nader can do to avoid going down in history as the biggest wanker since the invention of wanking.

What do you think the effect of such a move would have on the race? Would it be more effective than if he had done so earlier?

On the other hand, would he be trying this hard to get on the ballots if he wasn't 100%? I'd be a pretty pissed off volunteer if that were the case.

What do you guys think - Nader drops and endorses Kerry so Bush doesn't nuke the world and all the 3rd party candidates in it?

6. It would put Kerry out front in all of the polls and if Nader....
...would announce his support for Kerry/Edwards and ask his supporters to give their vote for John Kerry, then the Bush/Cheney bunch would be trounced and Nader would win a place in the history books as saving America's democracy. As it stands his name will be either "shit" after the November 2 election or he will fade into total political oblivion.

8. Nice to live in a dream world, but the only thing
Nader has been doing is complaining of how bad democrats are.

7. Maybe Kerry will make him a deal
EPA Commissioner? Interior Secretary? Don't know if that would satisfy the guy, but he's otherwise going to fade into obscurity after November (heard from Ross Perot lately?).

11. Seen Nader lately?
The stoned cold nuts. We already have enough kooks running around DC. The point is to get rid of them, not add to the total.

10. non-issue???
After 4 years of Bush I seriously doubt Nader is pulling a significant number of votes away from Kerry -- I strongly suspect he'll get < 1% wherever he's on the ballot & those voters would have stayed home if he wasn't on the ballot.

12. you can't put Nader in the category of "wanker"
The nitwit has nothing to wank. If he were to leave the race (which there is no way in hell he would), it wouldn't be too much of an issue for most voters (corporate media, of course) because he isn't that much of an issue now, perhaps some in Florida.
