Rasmussen Battleground for 9/28 (mostly good news, again)
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 04:39 PM by louis c
Rasmussen National three day numbers show that this race is nearly dead even. For the fifth day in a row, Bush's lead stayed under 2%. Today, Bush leads Kerry 47.9% to 46.3%. That narrow lead now needs to be measured in tenths of a percent.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com

Florida, Kerry 49%-48% (the closeness of Florida is astounding, with a 1 point lead changing hands every day for 6 straight days. Todays numbers represent a 2 point Kerry gain)

Michigan, Kerry 47%-45% (Yesterday Bush came within 2 points of Kerry, which is the closest since 9/19. Today marks no change from yesterday's numbers)

Minnesota, Tie 46% (This race was added 5 days ago, and this is the fourth tie, all at 46%. Today's numbers represent a 1 point Kerry gain)

Ohio, Bush 47%-46% (This is the closest Kerry has been in Ohio in 2 weeks, and marks a 1 point Kerry gain from yesterday)

Pennsylvania, Kerry 49%-45% (This is the largest Kerry lead in Pennsylvania in over two weeks, and is a 2 point gain from yesterday)

P.S. Don't let the Electoral College numbers frighten you. New Jersey is now a toss-up state, because a weekly poll has Kerry up only 3 points. I figure this is more of a snap-shot aberration. There is no way that New Jersey is that close. The same thing happened to New York the week before, but this week a 6 point Kerry lead there quickly went to 12 points yesterday.

4. thanks louis. i appreciate when you note if its good news in the title
theres all the junk polls out so i know now to let them go. but if im going to count on rasmussen and zogby, it helps to know what the direction is first before i come on in

thanks again for the report

7. Thanks, louis c. Very much appreciated!
I've been saying for weeks now to ignore the national polls, and rather, take a look at what's happening in these in-play states.

It will be close, no doubt about that.

8. Great news, Louis...

Thanks for that. We need it.

On edit: If we win Florida and Penn, assuming we win Oregon, Minnesota, Maryland, NH and get 2 EVs from Maine, all we need is ONE state out of NV, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Arkansas, New Mexico or WV to win.

10. I am not greedy
Just give us Florida. I am not worried about PA as long as Philly and Pittsburgh dont have hurricanes on Nov 2.

11. I'm most happy to see those Ohio numbers
because I remember some people were ready to write that state off a couple weeks ago.

Excellent news.

Kerry and Bush even at 45% Nader at 2%

MoveOn did a full page ad in the New York times exposing the methodology
of oversampling of republicans by gallop.

15. I'm looking at that NYT ad right now
I'm in NY this week, and I just opened the paper and found that ad. It's titled "Gallup-ing to the Right." Great job, MoveOn!

Of course NYers don't need to be told this, and the rest of the country does.

I'm wearing my K/E button and the waiter at the Vietnamese restaurant where we had dinner was thrilled to see it. He said he hates Bush, and can't wait to see him be defeated. I made him promise to bring 5 others to the polls with him. He got a nice big tip. :)
