CSPAN SG duel: Walter Dellinger:Ted Olson::Thoughtful Guy:Evil Bastard |
|
Bush's former (thank the gods) Solicitor General Ted Olson demonstrated why he will be Satan's cabana boy for all eternity on CSPAN this morning with a response to Clinton's acting SG Walter Dellinger's question about partisanship and judicial appointments. Dellinger argued that giving the guy who lost the popular vote in a near 50-50 election 100% of the judicial nominees is irrational and inequitable for a democracy. Olson said, "So the first horse across the finish line at the Kentucky Derby shouldn't get the prize?" To which Dellinger very quickly replied, "The second and third place horses get some of the prize money, too, don't they?"
This is Republican politics for you. It's ALLLLLL about winning power so you can make others bend to your will.
May Olson rot in hell for all eternity when his time comes. Even if there is no hell.

5. What's also irritating about Olson's remark is that the Republican |
|
assholes acted as though Clinton wasn't the first across the line. So why should Democrats give an illegitimate wanker like the Bush boy even one ounce of the nominations he wants without a fight?
:grr:

6. Walter Dellinger was one of my law professors...... |
|
He's extremely bright, quick, witty, and charming. I had him for first-year constitutional law class. I heard him speak again at an alumni event in D.C. a year ago, and he was as great as ever. A girl who would become his son's wife was in my law school class, too. I went to their wedding, and I've the opportunity to meet Walter again only twice since his son's wedding; wish it was more because I love listening to him.

He should hate * for letting it happen. Maybe he just wanted to get rid of her (she was a pain, I thought it was because she was a Pub).
