Bush vs. Kerry is like Tim McGraw vs. Joni Mitchell |
|
People are going to like Tim McGraw better than Joni. They're going to buy the simple platitudes of a truly mediocre person over the thoughtful, complex, complete sentences of someone who thinks and suffers. Tim will always sell more albums than Joni.

1. Hey, don't knock Tim McGraw! |
|
He's a Dem, I think, who is supporting Kerry. I read that about a month or so ago.

2. No...Bush vs Kerry is more like Johnny Paycheck vs Elvis |
|
Bush is a one-trick-redneck pony...and Kerry will set the country swooning.

4. I like Tim McGraw better than Bush |

Of the mediocre only-famous-for-his-looks country singers, he's one of the best, whereas Bush has absolutely nothing. But I also know that no one wants to listen to Joni's complex meditations when they can listen to Tim's feelgood and utterly baseless platitudes. Or, at least, most Americans would choose Tim over Joni.

His vocals are also a little stronger now. Although I like Joni more, neither Tim's politics nor music is bad IMO.

Tim McGraw is SO much more appealing to Bush. The Joni Mitchell to Kerry is okay.
Blech! I don't get why everyone doesn't go running for their barf bag's at the mere sound of Bush's thin, whiny, nasally voice. I think Bush's appeal is he reminds people of a trained chimpanzee dressed up in clothes. That's about it. Personally, I don't see the appeal, and I used to love 'Lancelot Link' as a kid. Anyway, monkeys have a lot more humanity than Bush does.
Bush has 'style'? 'Appeal'? 'Charm'? I. Just. Don't. Get. It!!!
On edit: I think a better analogy would be to compare Bush to that guy who sung 'Achy Breaky Heart'. He became famous for that one song, played over and over and over and over again until you just wanted to repeatedly hit your head against a brick wall just to make it stop.

5. Tim McGraw is a very cool liberal. He's a big Bill Clinton fan, too. |
|
I think it's more like putting smarmy Wayne Newton up against Eric Burdon.
Someone WRITES Newton's silly, jingoistic platitudes while Eric LIVED the words he wrote.

Here is a little song I wrote You might want to sing it note for note Don't worry be happy In every life we have some trouble When you worry you make it double Don't worry, be happy...
Ain't got no place to lay your head Somebody came and took your bed Don't worry, be happy The land lord say your rent is late He may have to litigate Don't worry, be happy Look at me I am happy Don't worry, be happy Here I give you my phone number When you worry, call me I make you happy Don't worry, be happy Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style Ain't got no girl to make you smile But don't worry be happy Cause when you worry Your face will frown And that will bring everybody down So don't worry, be happy (now)...
There is this little song I wrote I hope you learn it note for note Like good little children Don't worry, be happy Listen to what I say In your life expect some trouble But when you worry You make it double Don't worry, be happy... Don't worry don't do it, be happy Put a smile on your face Don't bring everybody down like this Don't worry, it will soon pass Whatever it is Don't worry, be happy

20. Odd that you would pick two people who are on our side. |
|
Both of these people lean to the left. I would have picked Gomer Pyle and Andy Griffith.
