Will Kerry and his campaign be able to make a case for one changing one's mind when conditions change?

200 years ago the founding fathers thought that slavery was OK; 150 years later the citizens of this country realized that it is wrong.

200 years ago the founding fathers thought that women should not be considered as equal citizens; 150 years later the citizens of this country realized that it is wrong.

And so it goes. Less than 100 years ago our government thought that it was its duty to control consumption of alcohol; to control what people think - today we know that both actions were wrong.

Very simplistic but we have to convey this message in the most simple, primitive even way so that even the dittoheads can grasp it.
