Kerry doesn't have a stance on war! |
|
That's what these two knuckleheads in my Theo class said today. Basically they said that neither Bush nor Kerry has a clear plan. Erm...right. I asked them if they went to Kerry's site and they said they had and that it said nothing about his stance on the Iraq war. What site were they reading?

2. Yeah, at this point if you're undecided you're probably not going to vote |
|
These two also claimed Jesus was a capitalist and that it was wrong of me to assume that all those who follow Jerry Fallwell are not necessarilly bad or wrong.

9. We DO need a multiparty system, OR a system based on |

people.
Our two party sham is disgustingly divisive.
And with the repukes now the extremists with the Dems being extremist-lite in some ways, and many repukes wary of the extremists will side with them anyway, we need TRUE diversity and we need PEOPLE running this country. Not politicians. And sure as hell not career politicians. And nobody who wants to give themselves a raise every so often because they helped out their corporate buddies.
Why can't I have a candidate where I agree with him or her on 90% of the issues, instead of grudgingly vote for some twonk I only agree with half the time, because the other fella is a guy whose policies I hate 90% of?
It's about the best candidate. Not the party. They perverted it into what we have now.
I'm still voting Kerry, but in an ideal world, we wouldn't have this 'electoral college' con job either.

That's what someone who never read a science book would say. I guess we should believe them.

I hope so, cause one half of America doesn't agree with the war in Iraq.

One has a "physical deferment" (how very O'Reilly-esq" and the other is a woman who claims that she would go in the draft if she could. She said that since women fought for and gained equality in every other way they should have equality in the draft too. I replied that women AREN'T equal since they still earn 70 cents on the dollar. I said that if they want to keep that extra quarter from us then they shouldn't change the draft rules either. Then the other smarmy jerk goes "Oh that's a great position. You don't have to go to war and you get to bitch about inequality" and then his buddy proceeded to call me a Communist.
Anyway, it's a moot point because even if I could be drafted for the war I wouldn't go because it's an unjust war. NOBODY, not males or females, should have to go for Bush's war on oil.
*sigh*

6. They just haven't listened hard enough |

Even if I haven't always agreed, I think Kerry has been fairly consistent on Iraq.
I don't get how anybody can say that they don't know Kerry. He's been out there campaigning nonstop for almost two years now.

8. To say Bush and Kerry are the same?!??! |
|
Didn't Bush say "don't worry about that" when asked about the draft?
Also this guy said that Bush saying "We can't win the war on terror" and "we are winning the war on terror" was not inconsistant.

They didn't want to sound like the idiots they are by admitting they hadn't looked at JK's site and were talking out of their asses.

Also I think you're right. They kept looking to eachother for back up.
He doesn't have a stance, right Jeff? No he doesn't. He's no better than Bush, right Beth? Yes, he's not different at all, right Jeff?
