Need absolute proof that CNN's spin comes straight from Rove? |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 11:27 PM by John_H
Did anyone else wonder why Judy, Schneider, Wolfie et. al suddenly started talking about how first debate winners don't win the race?
Since they reported this, not as talking points they were given, but as "fact" it had to be the product of meticulous research and good honest reporting, right?
Nope. Look no further than our friend Nita Pickler's damage control effort in which uncle KKKarl goes on the record:
Some Bush advisers noted hopefully that there is a history of candidates losing the first debate and winning the election — it has happened in four of the last six presidential elections, said White House strategist Karl Rove.
Billy sez Al won the first debate. That's just how you remember him reporting it back in 2k right? me neither. So is it 4 or 3? Did Perot really win? Could it be 2 out of 6, Billy? LOL!
I don't know what's funnier, watching Rove scrape the bottom of the barrel to find something positive to say or finding proof that when Judy, Jeff, Bill, and Wolf's lips are moving, we know who's doing the talking.

I hate to have to cut out one more seemingly long time friend (CNN).
So, now what exactly is the final tally?

CNN used to set the standard. I don't even bother watching it anymore. Thank goodness for the net.

18. It makes me physically ill to watch CNN. Only time I turn it on is when I |
|
want to hear someone lie to me.
That Letterman thing with the bored kid is just the 1/10th of the iceburg that you see.
90% of their bullshit you never goes beyond the subconscious, and thus the physical reaction.

3. Cable news is dead to me |

It stopped being news when Ted Turner sold out. Faux and MSGOP are wannabes that figured out how pandering to the powerful interests can make you rich.
Screw 'em all. The internet rules.

5. I heard a story on MSNBC about the spin room. Rove was pissed |
|
Hughes and others were walking around with signs hoping the pundits would interview them. Rove was in a grave mood. He was in the spin room. I heard it this morn. I don't know the lady who said it but it was one of those rare honest moments. She said "There were swarming around trying to...well spin that's what it is." I may not have exact words but that is real close.

6. Only two days ago the talking point was, |
|
"This is a must-win for Kerry." Yesterday it changed to, "The consensus seems to be that Kerry won the debate, but that doesn't mean the election will be affected." And now it is, "Kerry needs to make a strong showing in the second debate because history shows first debate winners usually lose the election."

I've also heard the pathetic whine about how Bush was tired because he was touring the disaster areas in Florida all day while Kerry was getting a manicure. What a joke.

When I heard that comment this morning that 'W was tired from touring hurricane-struck Florida for the umpteenth time'...I was driving, and practically wanted to stop my car and get out and yell! All I could think of was ... Well, then, *maybe* you shouldn't spend so much time on vacation and get used to what the rest of us commonly refer to as WORK. Which sometimes requires preparation for important meetings, coupled with real life issues surrouding family and friends... all while trying to find a moment to get something remotely resembling sleep before waking to do it all again, maybe for several days in a row, before getting a couple days off.
I can't even believe that pulled *that* shitola.

I get 15 days off per year total. That's vacation time, sick time, personal days, doctor's appointments, whatever...15 days. He took more days off than that his first couple of months in office.
And how many of us have had days where you have to work all day, so busy you can't take time for lunch, then go pick someone up at the airport, then fight traffic into the city to get to a meeting in the evening, get the kids fed and tucked in, do some laundry, then be ready for a meeting the next morning? Or some variation of that? Real people have to do that ALL THE TIME. What the fuck is Dumbya complaining about?
