This lynch mob/media blasting mentality I am starting to notice is
inevitably going to dull the effect a meaningful email campaign when it really matters. Yeah, it's a free country and I know there are many worthwhile causes but perhaps we should pick our spots, or at least have all the facts in before we react.

2. May I be first to disagree?
No one is listening to reason right now. Emails should be polite but not too logical or factual. Write for newspapers if you want to be highly research-driven.

And besides--a lynch mob is exactly what the fascists deserve to meet.

3. The right...
Sends an enormous amount of time firing off communication after communication to the media, trumpeting their points and taking the media to task. Guess what: it works.

I say we emulate success.

6. Expected this reaction but after reading the * earpiece thread and how
folks were running off half cocked to alert the media. I mean, WTF is someone gonna think getting a bunch of emails about a bit of hearsay and speculation? I know what I'd think. I just think that emails with facts and links are the way to. And I do think we can learn something from the right but we can actually do it better than them.

5. For the most part
the media does not care what you think. All they care about is that you're watching. That's what their sponsors care about as well. We'd be better off to just mail the the ones we agree with and to ignore the ones we don't.
