It was for American Spectator, a right wing, ultra-conservative magazine brought to you by the folks from Regnery Publishing.

If you subscribe to the magazine, you get, for free with postage paid, a copy of "Unfit For Command".

I would count this as a campaign ad, wouldn't you?

1. I'm not sure about that but
I've heard rumors that Scaife has been buying up the Unfit books by the ton and this indicates that that is true.

4. Apparently, it's not selling very well, if at all.

2. Yes, I saw the actual television ad here in Alabama.......
...I was disgusted on one hand, but I had to laugh out loud that they were already having to resort to GIVING away "Unfit for Command".

7. I MIGHT care if it was in a swing state
but Alabama is already "in the red". Besides, if there are any undecides that know that magazine is a ultra right wing rag, they may think "How pathetic is that?". I think it's just as likely to swing voters away.

The big question is will the distributors of the Fahrenheit 9/11 DVD be able to run ads?

3. sounds like it to me - but you know they do whatever they want to do.
It's now getting to be the point of no return for any kind of court
orders to get something crooked straightened out in the courts or the court of public opinion on stuff like this. Expect there to be
loads and loads of this before election day.

5. They do whatever they want, but
we have the media blaster. We can write snail mail, LTTEs, and we can call.

We can also notify Kerry's rapid response. If we keep up the pressure, it may help a bit.

6. Within the 4-week time frame, they'll be able to get away with anything
they try. I think it'll get REAL dirty. Once they plant a seed, it'll be after the election before anyone can do anything about it. Which is also why I agree with other posts here that we absolutely cannot let up.

8. No, it's not a campaign ad because it does not explicitly encourage
voting for one candidate over another.
