WP reveals that Bush bad-mouthed Kerry at UN private luncheon
When President Bush went to the United Nations last month, he had lunch with some world leaders and told them privately what he thought of John Kerry. Bush called his opponent a flip-flopper, precisely what he has been saying on the stump. If you expected otherwise, you do not know George Bush. As with his turn to religion, this president -- once he gets there -- sticks to his message. It's why he lost the debate with John Kerry.

7. Yes, but...
Didn't the white whale also drag Ahab to the bottom of the ocean?

Makes you wonder...

9. he's also the pathological poster boy for dirty-tricks hypocrisy like:
the Christian who is so pro-life that he thrills at his execution record in Texas; and as for "turning the other cheek" -- in dumbya's case, it's a double dose of butt cheek.

11. Poppy did the same thing
But he waited until after the 1992 election to inform world leaders that President-Elect Clinton could not be trusted.

The Family Bush: Honorable, patriotic.

13. I think * underestimates the UN reps. They are not as stupid as he is,
they can see and make up their own minds about Kerry. They can also see how childish * is. What a Moron. I'm really getting tired of saying that.

Bush frat-boy antics don't sell with the UN crowd. They see him for what he is, and comments like that just make him look that much more out of place in the halls of the UN.

14. Doesnt matter much
As many of the worlds leaders and diplomats at the U.N. have made it clear that
they have been offended by Bush, and many have made it clear that they believe that Kerry
would be a better president of the United States, Those who were not sure yet would certainly
take closed door attacks on Kerry as another recommendation for Kerry's presidency.

It seems that the Kerry campaign waited so long to try to turn thier campaign around because their timing required them to do so in order to make the optimal use of their final secret weapon in this campaign. Bush's own arrogance, stupidity, and belief that he can either outsmart them stupid third worlders, or cow them with threats. The stony silence that met Bush at his last speech at the opening of the General Assembly was proof that he can do neither.

15. This line in the column sums it all up -
To the unrebuttable charge that he initiated a foolish war and then mismanaged it, Bush could only say that being president was tough work and, oh yeah, stay the course.
