I can hear them, but I can't see them? - W's speech
This supposed major speech was nothing more than a pep rally for the Chimp in Chief. But the one thing that was really odd was the audience. From the sounds of it there must have been 1000's of enthusiastic supporters cheering W's every word. However, not once did the camera ever show this 'crowd'.

The whole speech was done with just one camera focusing straight on W. Even at the end when he left the stage they didn't show the audience. The only members of the audience were some middle aged white guys at the side of the stage.

I wonder why Bush would avoid showing the audience for this important speech where he had so much 'support'?

1. He waved up to a balcony at the end. Or maybe he waved at God.
You're right---it was prolly a recording!

2. He seemed to make a point of looking up
and thanking the crowd for coming...
Sounded like the "crowd" was being prompted for applause, because they clapped at some weird times. Staged, staged, staged. Where's the equal time for our candidate?

3. I didn't watch it all, but noticed what you say. The audience sounded so
"pumped" one would think the camera would have panned. The other odd thing is that his "smirk" was more pronounced than usual. Maybe it WAS rigged and he was amused at his little secret...fake audience, sound pumped in..taped delay...who knows. It was odd..

everytime Bush 'spinned' the wheel he got a cheer, whether he hit anything of substance, or not.

6. I can't watch because I am in my cubie.
However, if you can't see a crowd, maybe its canned applause. I would not put it past them. How does he look? Good? Confident? Or like the imbecile he usually looks like?

8. Found a few pics - not much of an audience?

Supporters cheer President Bush during a stop at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004.

Bush was his usual arrogant, cocky self. Like a trained seal, he loves applause. Even if it is canned.

From the looks of the only picture of the audience that I can find, this was a relatively small hall. No wonder they didn't want to show pictures of the cheering crowds.
