If you don't mind hoofing it (or BART'ing it) across the bay Triple Rock has EXCELLENT beers, decent food and a rooftop garden (and they have no issues with 420 use up there)

The Expansion on Market and Church. Ex-old man bar now with a younger crowd and a smattering of old men and with much of the same feel. Very easy to talk in, not too busy and accessable by most transportation venues. Pool table, darts, a great bartender, and an okay juke box.

18. so has it been decided where everyone will meet? |
|
Being an East Bay anarchist, I usually avoid the city for it's traffic.
Nothing against SF...just the severe lack of parking that gets me. And no anarchists to go around blowing up all the parking meters in town.
So where's it gonna be?

as I will be doing the tourist thing and won't have access to a car.
I was thinking North Beach. Used to be a place on the corner down there called the Condor. It was big and would fit a few people. Thoughts?

I just went by today. It's no longer a strip club and it does serve food. Though it seems it caters mostly to tourists. And there is almost nothing wrong with that.;)
2 things though:
You couldn't find a worse place than North Beach for parking.
It's not so hot in terms of public transporation, either. Especially for those coming from out of town.

what would be the best part of San Fran to gether in.
Bear in mind two things:
1. Medea Benjamin may join us.
2. If you say 'Fisherman's Wharf,' I will light myself on fire.

within walking distance anyway .
The only place I know like that is the place we met last time you met up with us in SF, T's J...Of course that was across the street from your hotel at the time :D
I wish I knew the city better ...WillyT knows a good Margarita place I think.

35. I have standing orders that if I ever say "Fisherman's Wharf" |
|
the person in closest proximity to me gets to cut my tongue out.
La Rondalla in the Mission might be a good choice. On a Wednesday, not bad parking, and close to BART and MUNI. Good drinks and okay food and a convivial atmosphere.
But no doubt, Medea can recommend a place, as well.

since I'll have to drive back to the South Bay, but I'd really like to try to make it.
Somewhere either close to BART or with good parking (Is there such a place in the city?) would be good for us suburbanites.
