Very nice candlelight vigil in Marin |

Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 11:16 PM by ailsagirl
Just got back from a very nice vigil in Marin. I'm not sure how many of us there were (estimated around 100?) but the local paper (Marin IJ) reporter was there taking photos.
Lots of honking-- lots of people gave us the peace sign-- waves and thumbs-up. Some people honked all the way down the block!!
Someone had fashioned a big sign that read: BUSH TALK TO CINDY
One arrogant SOB in a pickup peeled out in front of us and left a HUGE cloud of black exhaust. What a moron!!
Other than that, it was very edifying.
:hi:

1. I just got back from the one in Santa Rosa..... |

There were at least a couple hundred people there. We were at the entrance to the weekly farmer's market, which is a big deal, so there were a lot of people coming and going who saw the vigil, and some joined in.

3. Here's the story from the local fishwrap... |

Here's a link to the Press Democrat article with a photo. There was another nice photo in the print version of the paper, but it's not here. They have the crowd at 340.
I think it's amazing that all these vigils were organized in just a couple of days.
