My article at RawStory on San Diego recount
Exclusive: Citizens Request Recount in San Diego Mayoral Race
Miriam Raftery

"Enron by the Sea" shows strange electoral anomalies - a 4 percent shift - ODDS OF SUCH A DISCREPANCY OCCURRING BY CHANCE ALONE ARE LESS THAN 7/100 OF 1%, STATISTICIANS REVEAL.

San Diego Democratic mayoral candidate, Donna Frye, may have been robbed of her mayoral seat in the July 25 local election as citizens' audit parallel election vote shows shift of 4 percent, Raw Story has learned.

2. Thanks!
The editor tells me she's passed it along to Randi Rhodes and to the House Judiciary Committee to give this story "legs."

4. This is all based upon an exit poll.
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 03:55 PM by Oerdin
Exit polls have a very well documented history of being incorrect. I simpathize with your cause but it's based upon nothing sand which will shift under your feet. I will even go out on a limb and say this will get laughed out of court. Have fun but realize this makes you look more then a little like you're crying wolf and that normally doesn't win votes for a side.

Having more election monitors is good and can't do any harm but trying to start law suits based upon crap exit polls just isn't something we should be doing as a party.

9. In many countries, big gaps between exit poll results and
official tallies are considered evidence of likely fraud.

Have you forgotten that in the Ukraine, exit polls motivated the masses to take to the streets and the high court to order a new election--resulting in new leadership for the country?

Exit polls were long considered accurate measurements in America--
until electronic voting machines came along. Hmmm...what a coincidence.

Not.

5. That's you?....
Miriam Raftery.... I love RAW.

I have a million questions! Are you a fulltime reporter? How many reporters are there?

I wish Rawstory could go big time. I'd love to help. I think they are fine online but I wish we could reach out to others. I think we need a printable copy to leave everywhere we go.

10. Yep, that's me! This is my first piece for Raw Story;
I'm not officially on staff for them yet, though the possibility has been raised.

I'd love to see this story everywhere, though you'd need permission from Larisa (Lala Rawraw at DU) to reprint it. That said, she's told me she would pass along this story to Randi Rhodes, the House Judiciary Committee, and others to help take it national.

6. Just added a "Re-elect Donna" set of shirts and bags...
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 07:38 PM by calipendence
and the updated message on the shirt now (which I designed about a week ago) now seems that much more relevant with this story coming out!

7. I love those shirts!
A lot of people around here have been wearing them.

At the rate these elections are going, they may be in style for a very long while yet.
