Spencer Signs Off: KSRO has re-shuffled its talk shows and, with no fanfare or on-air farewells, removed afternoon-commute host Spencer Hughes from the deck.

Hughes, a family man with a quick mind, may make it as a talk-show host once he learns that most listeners want more than a steady diet of mockery and name-calling. His favorite aspersion - "liberal bed-wetters" - grew very old.

All I can say is IT'S ABOUT TIME! Spencer Hughes replaced one of my alltime favorite radio hosts, Pat Thurston, when she left because she was having triplets. It was like having salt thrown on the wound to have her spot given to Spencer Hughes. Now Pat is back from 1:00 to 3:00, and Hughes is gone.

2. I'm a Sonoma talk radio junkie

and I've never even listened to that station. I listen to Air America primarily on 960 "The Quake"

What are other good local progressive stations?

3. Not sure of other progressive stations

but if you can tune into Pat Thurston's show, I doubt you will be disappointed. She covers a broad range of subjects. Yesterday she had a local scientist on to discuss global warming. She often covers local politics, and local events. A very knowledgeable and informed woman.
