www.betterca.com I think they are still looking for volunteers to help defeat Schwarzenegger's ballot measures. I am going to be phone-banking for them every Sunday until Election Day! I did some precinct walking and phone-banking for them last Sunday, and it was a very rewarding experience. What worries me is that some Democrats don't see how important this election really is. Schwarzenegger wants to turn California red. That appears to be the goal of his ballot measures. To redistrict California into a red state, and punish the public employees for opposing his policies.
If every California DUer reading this got active with this group, maybe we could wake up the Democrats and deliver a resounding defeat to these anti-worker, anti-union ballot measures. I think that the results of this election will effect the 2006 election. If Schwarzenegger's ballot measure package wins, his chances at re-election increase. He blew his final chance at being a "moderate" today when he vetoed the marriage equality bill. This is a hardcore conservative, folks. It's time to take him down.

Note the date: November 8.
Note the nos -- Props. 73-78.
Note the yeses -- Props. 79-80.
The deadline for voter registrations is October 24, 2005.
Voters should be registered where they live. If you have moved since the last time you voted, you must re-register by October 24.
Absentee ballot applications must be submitted by November 1.
The application for Los Angeles County is on-line at your County Recorder's office. Take the absentee ballot and vote at your voting place if you forget to mail in your absentee ballot.
Above all, if you really are too busy to work on this election, be sure to vote on NOVEMBER 8. Democrats really need your support on NOVEMBER 8.
Teachers, you are one of Schwarzenegger's targets! The state and local school boards have already broken a long list of promises. And, this election is a special license for Schwarzenegger to break still more -- including the promise that you will get a livable pension when you get too old, sick or just plain tired to teach any more. Please, please, please get out there and campaign as hard as you can.
Same for everyone else, especially nurses, police officers and firemen. Schwarzenegger want to put your future in jeopardy. Don't let him do it.
