2. Who are you calling?

I've been getting robo-calls on other props but no calls from live human beings.

4. We're calling registered Dems mostly

Since we're calling "our side", the experience has been very positive, for people on both sides of the phone.

Re: getting a "live person" on the phone, as opposed to RoboCall, folks have commented on this. One guy said, "Heck, a real person! At least you guys are making the calls yourself--that's more than I can say for the others."

3. I've been doing lots of phone banking out here

in Orange County. It can be a very satisfying experience, especially when you talk to somebody who didn't have a strong opinion before the call and strongly agrees by the end of the call!

That's like me living in Bakersfield, so we can probably relate to each other (darn that Red Sea)

Yes, I agree that this phone banking is gratifying. My husband and I both are making calls, and we esp. get thrilled when a Democrat says, "Oh, thanks for calling! I forgot about that!" . For the last 2 nights, we have been calling people voting by mail, btw.

We also like this:
"Hang on--let me get a pencil." (pause) "Okay, what am I voting 'No' on?" And then we tell them what our party is saying "No" to and they write it down so they won't forget.
