Gov. Davis ..... what a classy man |
|
GOV. Davis was on local TV here in LA and that man showed class, dignity that Arnie does not have.
He's not gloating over the election and is honest about Arnie in 2006.
If Grey Davis was still in charge .... well it's hard to say.
But MY Governor .... Grey Davis still has my respect.

I have an joke for you ....
You know you are from Bakersfield when... >> >> >>One of your friends owns a house on a spot where you had field >>parties in high school. >> >>You think lime green is a perfectly acceptable color for a high >>school. >> >>You know the ingredients in a George's Special, or have ever had a >>"Black and White" for lunch. >> >>You get mad every time you see "Best of Times" when Taft wins at >>the end. ...or... you get mad every time you see "Best of Times" >>because who the hell are the Bakersfield Tigers? >> >>You comment on how expensive Mexican food is in any other city in >>the country. >> >>You have ever offered someone a Dewar's Chew from a bowl on your >>coffee table. >> >>You claim to hate LA but go there at least every other month. >> >>You have ever debated the merits of water skiing at Lake Ming >>versus Buena Vista. >> >>You have to explain >>to friends from out of town what animal a tri-tip comes from. >> >>You think beans and salsa go with everything. >> >>You think a restaurant is chintzy if it doesn't come with soup, >>salad, spaghetti, and fries. >> >>You think a red light is just a suggestion. >> >>The best restaurants in town serve pickled tongue. >> >>You think $400 a month for rent is way too high. >> >>You know a swamp cooler is not a happy hour drink. >> >>You know the pool can be warmer than you are. >> >>You realize that Valley Fever isn't a disco dance. >> >>Anywhere that takes longer than a 10 minute drive is way too far. >> >>You think you're better than people from Fresno. >> >>Someone mentions the fair and your thoughts turn to Cinnamon Buns, >>First Christian Church corn on the cob, and Boy Scout potatoes. >> >>You have to "explain" to someone about Beach Park. >> >>You complain about >>how boring Bakersfield is, but still make fun of people from >>Delano, Taft and Tehachapi. >> >>Someone from out of town talks about how foggy it is and you tell >>them, "Just wait." >> >>You swear that just last week there was an orchard where there is >>now a whole development of houses. >> >>You drive just as fast on a sunny day in June as you do on a foggy >>day in December. >> >>You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from >>Bakersfield...

That was so FUNNY!!!!!!
You know, I brought several boxes of Dewars chews to my Los Angeles relatives for Christmas and found myself explaining why that was such an awesome treat. I had to laugh because I realized you had to be from Bakersfield to appreciate them.
Thanks for sharing (My husband says he saw that somewhere a couple weeks ago. Do you know who wrote it?)

7. I liked Grey Davis and never understood why |
|
he was criticized. I thought he was too gracious when he lost to the BIG A, but maybe it's to his credit.

Never ran a single ad in this area, Coachella Valley. He had all the money to fight the recall. I think he counted on LA county/bay area to save him.He abandoned "losing" areas instead of scrounging up every votehe could.

at least why I was not happy with him.
I supported him through the recall, but I was never happy with him as governor. I'm a teacher. He continued Pete Wilson's "standards and accountability" high stakes testing reform, and expanded it. That's a state version enacted before NCLB made it federal, and the reason why california has both AYP and API.
I sure preferred him over Arnold, though. Having moved out of state last spring, I need to say CONGRATULATIONS AND GREAT WORK!!! to my former state for your victories last week.

the whole energy crisis was blamed on him, while all the enron fucks are still getting away with murder.
Truth is, the governator's cabinet is chock full of Davis people who supposedly screwed cali over in a big way.
