1. Arnold hasn't actually done anything |
|
except to successfully promote a plan to float a bond to "pay" the state deficit for year and substantially raise the tuition at the State Universities and colleges. He is a fraud.

Mostly all Arnold does is smile, give the thumbs up, and threaten to terminate something. I think what we're seeing with him is the power of fame working its will on people, and they aren't really paying attention to what he's doing. I do think that in time it is going to wear off and people will get a better understanding of what he's about.

What matters is what actually happens to the state as a result of his "leadership". By the looks of things there is going to be an enormous hangover after he is through.

5. I've been trying to find that out |
|
I haven't seen any opinion polls since this budget mess began. Prior to it, when the media was kissing his steroid enhanced behind all the time, it was 65%. But that was coming off of the heels of his winning the recall election and his supposed early triumphs in office. This is the first time he's really being tested.
I can tell you this, the reason why I don't think Arnold's popularity will last is because it's sort of like the Bush phenomenon after 9-11. If you listened to the media in those days, you'd think every American just thought Bush was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and no doubt many people thought that way. But a lot didn't. Many just went along with him for awhile because they thought it was the right thing to do. Arnold is kind of the same way. California has had such incompetent governors for so long that when Arnold showed up, the media hailed him as a great savior! People aren't really thinking about him too much. he's almost invisible here, because he isn't really doing anything. The more he does get into the fray of things, the more this boorishness comes out, and I know Californians well enough to know they won't stand for it forever.

he planned to half the time animals are held at shelters before they are euthanized (and wanted to allow birds and rodents to be killed instantly), he's insulted democratic lawmakers while speaking at a fucking shopping mall, he held meetings with enron to settle for pennies on the dollar. and yet the media still adores him. they still claim the vast majority of the state just love the guy. i think it's a complete sham.

10. I hope he becomes another Jesse Ventura |
|
Of course, Jesse didn't have the Repubs millions to prop him up the way Arnold does.

11. He is definitely a Jesse Ventura and has done |

nothing for California. He really turned people off with trying to kill off the strays early; that was a really stupid mistake that he had to back down from quickly and you know how his base feels about backing down to softies. I'm just glad it's him instead of that other guy, the right-wing nerd (forgot his name). Most of the blame for Arnold getting elected can be placed at the foot of Gray Davis, who came out just before the election with that stupid law to give illegals drivers licenses; what an idiot. And Cruz wouldn't have been much better. Hell, we were screwed no matter which way it went.
