60 friendly cats need new homes
Inland Valley Daily Bulletin

By JANNISE JOHNSON
STAFF WRITER

Friday, October 15, 2004 - RANCHO CUCAMONGA - The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Shelter recently acquired 60 new feline inmates who hope to be pardoned into loving homes soon.

The cats, described as "healthy and well-behaved" by Jennifer Pennell, education specialist with the shelter, will all be spayed or neutered before they are adopted out.

The animal shelter took in the felines of various ages and both genders after an animal control officer answered a call Wednesday about a strange smell coming from a home in Rancho Cucamonga.

Pennell would not divulge the street where the cats lived or the resident's name, but she said the woman in the house admitted she needed help taking care of that many animals.

The cats are available for adoption during shelter hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The shelter's spay and neuter van will be at the shelter Sunday to alter any adopted animals.
