Demonstrations in San Diego
Well I just got back from the demonstration in San Diego California

Yes it was cold and misserable (for san diego). Yes some of us did wear something orange and yes it was peaceful, and we had about twenty people which is NOT bad for the first event in this city.

This is the firt demonstration in San Diego and as soon as I have photos (they need to be developed... ) you will have photos.

Folks these protests are going on nationwide, so don't let anybody tell you otherwise.. We did lots of education, or at least reaching out and we got far more possitive honkings than one finger salutes... and my personal thanks for the San Diego Police Department, they were GREAT.

3. Is it true that San Diego
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 08:34 PM by Downtown Hound
had an almost split vote right down the middle? And if so who'd it go to? I remember when San Diego was solid repuke.

On edit: good work on the protest.

4. San Diego is trending Democrat
and you are right this is making the repukes nervous... the rally also included words for the Donna Frye mess... and how the Board of Supervisors wants to keep the good ol' boy network going... if you catch my drift

6. Sort of....
The mayor race was close three ways. Two Reps vs a Dem write-in

The city proper is definitely trending Dem but the population concentration isn't as dense as what you find in other cities.

5. Photos from san diego indymedia
Despite the rain this afternoon, several San Diegans turned out to protest for voters' rights. Locally citizens are calling for a complete count of the votes cast in the Mayoral Election. At a national level these activists are hopeful that a recount in Ohio and New Mexico will be occur unfettered by Republican obstructionists a la Florida 2000. Several of the protests signs added a international perspective by referring to the voter activism expressed in the Ukraine. If you missed today's rally there are more events scheduled on December 9th and 13th.
