GOP legislators in CA want to hook their party up with electoral votes!
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 04:06 AM by Knurled99
Republican state legislators John Benoit(R-Palm Desert) and Tom Harman(R-Huntington Beach) announced a proposal to end the winner-takes-all electoral college system in CA and replace it with a system where the majority winner takes only two points, and each candidate gets 1 additional point for every district won. If this scenario had taken place on Nov. 2, Bush would have taken at least one third of California's electoral votes. This would be an unbelievable give-away to GOP presidential candidates in future elections and must be stopped... I've already sent out some letters and ask that any other CA DUers do the same....

4. You are right...
but if it does NOT happen on a national level right away, and CA starts giving a third of it's electoral votes to the GOP, we would have a serious challenge to deal with.
