Anyone else notice the lighted sign by the freeway for Escondido Auto Park? Last night it read: "Don't complain; we live in America"
I think that means STFU and buy an SUV.

3. How many other DU'ers live in San Diego North County? |
|
I live on the coast, so I haven't seen that sign yet. Maybe we should put up another one across the street that has the Thomas Jefferson (??)quote that dissent is the highest form of patriotism?
Also, is it my imagination, or are you San Diego DU'ers seeing more Bush/Cheny 04 bumper stickers now than before the election? By mid-December, I was seeing fewer and fewer, but my own completely unscientific observation is that now there are more and more sprouting up.

11. I don't actually live in North County |
|
I live in North Park; I work in RB, and I'm taking woodowrking at Palomar College so that's how I happened to be driving by that sign.
Yes, I do notice more and more of those little oval W04 stickers, mostly on the huge SUVs going 17 mph because it's raining.

4. I went to SDSU and Lived in Rancho Bernardo in the 80's |
|
My family has had a ranch below Palomar for generations, so I've been around Escondido since the 50's. When I was about ten I went there for some supplies and, looking around, I told my dad
" It's like the Martians took a town from Oklahoma and put it in the middle of nowhere"
And THAT to this day, describes Escondido.

Leucadia RULEZ!!!
:bounce:
Serious though...this whole San Diego County region is filling up and going down. The air is unbreathable most of the year and the freeways are undrivable all the time. Everything is "private property keep out". Can't wait to retire and get out. I have about 5 years left, max.

I don't know of any more local than that here on the DU. Stacy has a group but not much traffic there: http://sandiegotalks.com/bb/
