Poll question: Sheen vs Feinstein for U.S. Senate-2006 Which would you vote for? |
|
We still have to get Sheen into the primary race but this poll is to see who the people here would vote for if he were in the race.

2. I can't vote since I don't live there |
|
But as an Alabama resident, I can say that Feinstein has always been much too conservative/corporatist for my taste. :hi:

And :hi: to you too. I'm in the Old Dominion, Virginia, but I'm a native of the Golden State. It rankles me to hear that Feinstein's husband is a principal owner of a defense firm that got a $600 million Iraq contract. She is not our friend, that's for sure.
Hey, has Howard hit Alabama yet? I prayed he'd head south right after he got the DNC nod and, hot damn, he did it. We're close in Virginia and I'd like to see the Democrats show some respect to the south by showing up, listening, and making our local, state and national case for election.

4. I don't think Howard's hit Bama yet, but I'm looking forward to it |

I've never liked Dianne Feinstein much but I was reading some book (forget the name of it now) that detailed her reaction when Mayor Moscone got assassinated out in San Fran and she took over. She didn't sound much like a Dem, much less a San Francisco Dem. More like an Alabama Dem. ;)
I've got high hopes for Chairman Dean, and I hope he visits soon!

5. Voted 'Sheen.' Is he giving thought to running? |
|
I spend several weeks of the year in California and would like to see a liberal Democrat challenge Dianne Feinstein. I like Sheen's chances in a debate against her.

Well, the more I kick it around in my head, the better I like the idea of a Sheen campaign against Dianne.

As much as I dislike Feinstein, she's better than Arnold. Why not encourage her to run against Arnold? I think she would have a better chance of unseating him than any state Dem politician.
If her seat is open, then we would have a shot at getting a replacement we like. Going up against Feinstein in the primary would be too risky because we could then lose the general election. The fewer Dems there are in the Senate, the less power true liberal Senators like Boxer will have.

14. Feinstein's voted with the Repugs one too many times |
|
The last was her vote to confirm Gonzales as AG.
I'm sorry, I simply cannot support ANYONE who votes in favor of a man who can justify torture on any grounds whatsoever.

I'd vote for Martin Sheen in a heartbeat!
DiFi has lost my vote forever. When I heard her admit that calls to her office on the IWR were overwhelmingly against a "yes" vote but, ignoring her constituents' wishes, she went ahead and did it anyway -- that was the last of many straws for me.
As a San Francisco, she and I go w-a-y back. I will vote for another candidate in the next election.
