We need to let Boxer and DIFI know we're not happy.
The California Democratic Party unanimously passed a resolution agisnt Negroponte. It mentioned the death squads. Yet, Boxer and DIFI didn't want to listen to 3000+ members of their party. Why? This was an ultimate insult from them to the voters.

The California Democratic Party also passed a resoluton calling for withdrawal from Iraq, four days before Boxer and DIFI voted for funding to keep the troops there. It's time they cared. NO RE-ELECTION for DIFI. Let's replace DIFI with Sheen.

5. You are assuming that both Boxer and DiFi believe that Negroponte
was associated with the death squads. Perhaps they did not believe that the evidence of the associate was credible.

8. In othe words, they trust Bush more than thousands of witnesses.
Why don't they become his third and fourth wives? They're too ignorant to be anything else. Their whole party told them the evidence was credible. But I guess they feel the Republican liars are more believable.

9. Thousands of witnesses testified that Negroponte

was associated with the death squads?

That must have been one long confirmation hearing.

2. DIFI must go.
Having attended the convention myself, I called DiFi's office earlier this week and asked the perky little voice on the other end whether DiFi had attended the convention. The voice at the other end of line got even perkier and said "Yes, we were there." I asked if the voice if they had noticed that Democrats are fed up with the conduct of representatives who don't represent a truly Democratic view and, among other things expressed my great dismay at DiFi's having introduced Condoleeza Rice at the hearings on her appointment. I reminded the voice that those of us who were at the convention do the hard work at the local level that gets Democrats elected. If enough of us call, maybe DiFi will consult her conscience and decide whether to run again on our terms or whether to retire. Let's keep the pressure up.

3. "This was an ultimate insult from them to the voters."
If that is an ultimate insult, then we live in a near perfect society.
Sheesh, did you really expect that they would snap to attention and put the shoulder to this issue just because it is somehow important to you?

4. I guess death squads murdering children are no big deal.
Why should I be so arrogant as to expect Feinstein and Boxer to care whether American kids live or are slaughtered like rodents.

6. the whole Negroponte thing is confusing
Jay Rockefeller, the ranking member on the Senate intelligence committee, is acting, from what I've read, as if Negroponte is his best friend

there's more here than meets the eye

I'm wondering if there's some trade going on--Bolton for Negroponte

I much rather have Negroponte than Bolton--of course I don't want either one of them but choosing between the lesser of two evils (and I do mean evil) here, I would have to go with Negroponte
