Will Lisa Madigan Challenge Blago?
I've been hearing from quite a few people that Lisa Madigan plans on challenging Blagojevich if he runs for reelection in 2006.

Also that if * wins this year, he plans on running for president in 2008.

Any proof to these rumors?

1. I've heard the rumors too.
In part, I think it is based on the fact that SO MANY of the Illinois Dems are unhappy with Blag. When you couple that with him pissing off AFSCME and SEIU, it really makes me wonder about the idea that he's probably gonna face a challenge in the primary.

Lisa Madigan is a possibility--lord knows Mike Madigan would support his kid. I had also heard some speculation that maybe Hynes would think about running. IF labor is pissed off, that becomes a possible source for Hynes for both cash and volunteer base.

I have heard more than one time that Hynes and Blag have some bad blood between them, so it might be possible, especially if Daley comes out against Blag (a possible thing since Blag has Chicago pissed at him over the Casino deal.)

One thing I wonder about, however, and it is the $64,000 question: Does Lida Madigan have the positive name recognition to run statewide? A lot of folks downstate really don't like Mike Madigan too much--and they might stick it to his kid just to prove a point...

2. but she has been working hard and keeping nose clean
and in Illinois, that has to count for something.

Bloggo is falling flat on his face. Boyish charm and elvis only go so far.

Lisa's dad is giving a push, of course, but I can see Mayor Little Big Man right there, too.

At least we have Obama. As yet untainted by that corruption and greed that permeates all of politics in Illinois.

Anyone catch the latest in Cook County? cheap housing for the favored few employees? disgusting.

4. I agree, and I am but one
of those enemies. He's a fraud AND a liar and I will support ANYONE that runs against him in '06.

5. Lisa Madigan so far has not proven she could take Blago
And I am not a Blago fan.

However Roe Conn does a very legit impression of her --she tends to shout really loud at rallys and press conferences. Like J. Mascis loud. It kinda freaks people out.
