Who will run against Obama?
Will he even have an opponent? At this point the Illiois Republican Party should focus on just finding some stooge to keep Obama at least a little busy. Hell, at this rate Barack will carry DuPage County.

2. This nimrod!

By the way, is that a gang sign, or is it the equivalent of "the finger"?

4. The IL GOP has become a Monty Python skit
They are a laughingstock ... I can remember when the Republicans were a Party about ideas, granted they were bad ideas, but at least they were ideas. Can't believe it has come to this.

5. True...but I'm really...

...enjoying the show. It's especially gratifying because I live in a Republican area, I love the conversations that are going on around here. I'm surprised they haven't tried to dig up Lincoln.

Cheers,
Kim :toast:

6. one good answer
the bros who led the party and the Tollway authority were bad to the core.
judy "the Bard" is a complete blithering, powerhungry fool.

they scared away a lot of youth and energy, at the same time as the fat cats kept getting that graft and bribe income.

exactly. ROFLMAO, you made my night with that one.

The fools would have been better off just rallying around JRyan. But it's just beyond them to think in human terms when sex is involved.

Anyone who runs now is going to look like a 5th choice candidate. Isn't this kind of historic, has anyone ever heard of an open Senate seat changing parties without opposition? Or a newcomer to statewide elections dominating the political scene as much - nobody wants to run against this guy.

Talk about the right place at the right time.

8. given the idiocy that drives the ILL-GOP
can we expect that they will try to steal the limeblight and name someone this week? Only to find out that that person doesn't really want to run against Obama?

Despite an unwritten agreement to hold a truce during the conventions, it would not surprise me in the least.

I can see them now, peering through endless lists so sheep willing to be slaughtered. The larger the pocket book, the better. The stupider and more susceptible to initial flattery and nicey-nice, the more capable they will call him/her.

Just wait until they accept. And whooosh, that backslapping support is all gone.

11. They might as well just keep Jack Ryan on the ballot at this point.
Since he hasn't formerly withdrawn yet.
