Leonard Boswell voted for the Bankruptcy bill. |
|
Boy what a hack! And on a state level, Vilsack seems to be about the most inept politician the Dems have ever had. I hope the Iowa Dems come through for us on the GOP IPERS "reform" amendment and kill it but with those guys, you never know.

2. I know what it is with a lot of our so-called "friends." |
|
They're in DC long enough to get in a position to have a very comfortable retirement or a nice job after retirement: Blouin, and on the other side, Tom Tauke and so on. I think Boswell just needed a bunch of $$$ from the credit card and banking folks to feather his nest. I think this was the case with SD's Daschle too. It's the $$$ and the prime location.

3. My husband tried to tell me it was his rural/farming constituency |
|
that forced the vote. I say BS as Polk county is now his main constituency and thats lenders, lenders, lenders. (And don't forget he's a proud Blue Dog Democrat as well).
Don't forget Blouin's work as he embarks on his Gubernatorial adventure. He'll become quite the liberal to try and win the primary.

5. This really is disappointing... |
|
The bankruptcy bill hurts American citizens, and is a gift handed on a silver platter--to the banks and credit card companies.
Sad, but many of our Democrats are bought and paid for. It's not just the Republicans.
Our entire political system has been corporatized. Every once in a while, a vote like this, reveals just how tantamount the corporations are and how insignificant citizens are--when it comes to Washington politics.

6. Maybe Ed Fallon should forget about Governor and run against Boswell in 06 |
|
Maybe Ed Fallon should forget about Governor and run against Boswell in 2006. I really like the things I hear from Fallon and would support him for governor, but I think outside of Central Iowa his message might not go over that well. If Fallon ran against Boswell, Fallon's strength (DM area) would compete well against Boswell.

8. Leonard is now just another career politician |
|
Edited on Sat May-14-05 06:30 PM by Broke Dad
Leonard has turned into a career politician. It is more important to him to suck up to the big contributors and get re-elected than to do the right thing. Another guy who has proved the blue collar guys right - the current Democratic leaders are Republican-lite.
Retire and go home and pet your cows Leonard. Let a young real Democrat run for and win the seat to really represent central Iowa.
