2. Yes, that's why they call Iowa a BATTLEGROUND STATE |
|
And why both candidates spend time and so much Ad money here.
Our state is that unimportant!

Christie Vilsack is speaking at the Democratic Convention. Thats sorta cool. Next weekend is the Bix Biederbecke Jazz Festival and surrounding events in Davenport. Every small town has a festival of some sort during the summer. We like it. I guess we're just simple folk out here in "mainstream America". So there's stuff going on, just not sure if big city folks can handle it or not. C'mon down!

The county fairs are kind of fun to attend. Plus the State Fair this year is having it's 150th anniversary, so I might try to make it to that.

8. Something's happening with Franker vs Leach!!! |
|
FRANKER VS. LEACH CLOSEST CONGRESSIONAL RACE IN MIDWEST!
Dave Franker has the best chance of any Democrat running in the Midwest to overturn a Republican Congressman according to the Political Oddsmaker for Campaigns and Elections Magazine. None of the Democratic Congressional challengers running in Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, or Indiana can boast of odds as optimistic as those for Franker, who is now running neck and neck with Jim Leach. The "Oddsmaker," who has a 98% accuracy record, gives Leach only 52.6% chance of beating Dave Franker. (Only one other Republican Incumbant in the Midwest appears vulnerable -- John Hostettler(R) of Indiana with 53.3% odds to hold on to his seat.)
YOU can make the difference! We're only 2.6% away from even odds, and with your help, Dave Franker can win this race. Visit www.FrankerforCongress.com to make a contribution, sign up to volunteer, or offer to host a house party for Dave.
