Seriously, how snowbound and cold are you? We must have a foot on the ground from before and I know we received another at least 4 inches last night. It's still coming down. I think I'm cancelling my dentist's appt this morning. Not sure I can get out to the main highway.

1. Isn't it beautiful?
Looks like we got about 4" around Mt Pleasant. I've got a Dr. appt. this a.m also, but I love to drive in it. It's always been my favorite sport. :)

3. Here's a view of Lansing IA
Took this a couple hours ago. Still coming down pretty hard. It is pretty when you don't have to go out in it!!!

4. We made to it Latham's Ames office
In spite of slick roads, 15 of us showed up at Tom Latham's Ames office to deliver 600 signatures from residents of the 4th Congressional district. The petition called for an exit strategy that allows our troops to come home in 2006. MoveOn Political Action led the online petition drive. We had a good discussion with Latham's staffer in Ames, while Latham was voting for the Patriot Act.

There were thousands of MoveOn members delivering more than 300,000 signatures to more than 230 congressional offices today - rain or shine.

5. Nice work Tom
Thanks for organizing that. Because of the snow, I decided against making the trip from Marshalltown. It is good to hear that there was a still a good showing.

6. Understandable
The roads were quite slick in the morning, and there were a few people who could not make it because of that. But I was really pleased with the turnout and the participation. Everybody spoke to the staffer about their concerns, and I think he was impressed by the knowledge and conviction of those who came.

7. What a great snow day in Cedar Falls!
Because school was canceled we closed our office in Waterloo and our family stayed home together - put up Christmas decorations - fed the birds - shoveled snow.

It was a great day.

Back at school/work today :(
