Who owns a white car with a DU bumper sticker on it? I'm just curious because I was behind a white car while driving near the Pentacrest a couple weeks back and it had a DU bumper sticker on it. I decided against stalking you, lol.

In my limited adventures outside of the Iowa forum I've came across quite a few Iowans on DU that don't ever post in the Iowa forum. I make it a point to invite them in, but for one reason or another there are some that just don't join us.
So lurker people, this is my invitation to you...please join in the discussion!

5. I've been on the phone all morning |
|
Most of my international friends have gotten a call just so I could tell them "Impeachment hearings should start today for that worthless little piece of shit who resides in our Whitehouse." I even made a point of calling one of the numbers from when my nephew was stationed in Afghanistan... someone who didn't even speak English answered. Screw it. I told him what I thought too.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their collective neo-conservative armpits.

7. Everyone is getting ready for prom? |
|
Okay, I don't know - I do know that I made three hundred pounds of Chex mix for post-prom last night (my hands still smell like Worcestershire sauce!) and am exhausted from being kitty-foster-mommy and just want to take a nap!!!!!
Are you ready for your big date with the General?

I appreciate the chance to hear informed peoples' views about Iowa politics, you sure can't get the whole story from papers like the W'loo Courier. Also appreciate the chance to hear about events/speakers here. I wouldn't have known until the very last minute about John Edwards speaking in Waterloo last month - heard about it on DU first.
I don't have enough posts/haven't given money yet so I can't start threads, but there was an interesting article about Rick Dickinson blasting Bruce Braley for flip-flopping on his position on the war. I'll attempt to insert a link, but HTML is a foreign language for me, so may not work:
www.wcfcourier.com/articles/2006/05/12/news/politics/9d5239108559117c8625716c004ae4c2.txt
Here's the gist of the article:
In the ad, Braley accuses Bush of lying about the rationale for going to war and says "If I'm elected, I'm going to push for the Iraqis to take over the fighting right now --- our troops have done their job."
Dickinson, an economic development official from Sabula, said that's a different position than Braley laid out the same day in a press release announcing the ad and in remarks posted to a Web site.
In the news release, Braley says, if he's elected, he'd "work every day to chart a new course for America in Iraq, and that begins with establishing an exit strategy with a timeline to hand over the fighting to Iraqi troops."
In the post to the DailyKos Web site, Braley said he'd "push for the development of a responsible exit strategy that allows for the Iraqis to take over the fighting --- so our troops can be redeployed within a reasonable time period."
So thanks all and have a pleasant evening despite the dreary weather.

I have the blue Jeep with -Bush bin Lyin'- at the top of the back window. The ones below get changed fairly often -- I think right now there is ~WAR: Want Another Republican?~ and Loebsack and Culver stickers. (Second Culver sticker because somebody ruined my first one - turkeybutt.)

Somehow I'd picture a FreeRepublic bumper sticker on his car before I could picture a DU one.
